As winter is upon us, some parts of Pakistan will be impacted by cold snaps and potential heavy snow fall. I will update this thread with regular weather advisories as and when they appear in my inbox from Gov of Pak.

Special Travel advisory: This season is very popular with tourists traveling to the scenic northern areas and Murree Hills, both domestic and foreign tourists are to be reminded that travel to Naran/Kaghan and Neelum valley during this season is hazardous and all tourists should avail the services of a suitable guide registered with the Apline Club of Pakistan / PTDC prior to commencing any travel. If travelling in your own vehicle please ensure its roadworthyness and suitablity for travel in rugged terrain.

After seeing what happened last time in Muree, here’s a life saving tip.
If it’s snowing heavy outside, don’t close all your windows, keep your heater on, and go to sleep.
The snow will pile up and block the air intake if your vehicle. Toxic gases will be trapped in your cabin and oxygen will run out. It will be a silent death and no one will even know before it’s too late.

Latest adverse weather advisory from Government of Pakistan. No Change in previous advisory.

BEST precaution: Avoid travel into such areas as a matter of choice or entertainment. Travel there only if you must.
