U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing has completed its third-phase expansion project at Tianjin composites, hoping to expand its production capacity. Wang Mengjie has the story.

With the total building area of over 58,000 square meters, Boeing's new workshop is now ready for the huge Chinese market.

BRENDAN NELSON Senior Vice President, The Boeing Company President, Boeing Global "We're very proud of the partnership that we've built with China over more than half a century.

Boeing's commitment to the third-phase development and expansion of Boeing Tianjin Composites should be seen as evidence of our growing presence in China."

According to Boeing's Commercial Market Outlook, China will need one-fifth of world's new commercial airplanes over 20 years, and remain the biggest growth market in the world.

LIU QING President, Boeing China "I have strong confidence in the Chinese market. It will become one of the largest markets for Boeing in 20 years. Tianjin's new factory is one example."

Liu, a Chinese veteran business leader, has been recently appointed as the regional head in Boeing – highlighting the importance the aircraft-maker accords to the Chinese market.

Apart from aviation, other industries in the U.S. are also expected to expand. China's strategy of advancing high-level opening-up will further unleash the potential of its ultra large market – which, in turn, will help strengthen economic and trade ties.

BRENDAN NELSON Senior Vice President, The Boeing Company President, Boeing Global "Following President Xi's meeting with President Biden in San Francisco in November last year, things are stable. There are differences between China and the United States, but we can play an important role."

WANG MENGJIE Beijing "Cooperation knows no boundaries. If the world's two largest economies work together, there will be more opportunities for companies on both sides. As Boeing's new factory gets ready in Tianjin, it could be another chance to bolster business. Wang Mengjie, CGTN, Tianjin."

Airbus and Boeing both had their factories set up in Tianjing city, a direct competition.

China's C 919 has it factory in Shanghai.
