Countless articles and videos are available on the web with respect to the plans to Balkanize Pakista....it looks like this is the final stage....The video of a "Dirty Harry" look alike beating protestors with a stick seems quite choreographed and pre-planned. It looks like the establishment is pushing all the "Right buttons" to start the balkanization process....the expulsion of the Afghan refugees, the chaos in GB, the treatment of Balochistan protestors etc..etc..It appears that just the right amount of pressure is exerted and relived in order to slowly stoke the fires... your thoughts

The generals haven't done Pakistan any service. That much can be concluded. What will happen at best is that Pakistan will limp along like a failed entity. Pakistan has been bruised badly economically. The main concern is the economy. Security and political crises come closely 2nd and 3rd. The economy won't recover easily unless a miracle happens. I am not hopeful about the upcoming elections.

Disintegration is wishful thinking.

Some time back i would have called this BS and dismissed however what is happening inside Pakistan, there is no doubt in my mind that higher ups in the military are all sold up to the highest bidder no wonder you have the likes of Baja and Asim Munir in top positions. Agar yahi chalta raha to Allah Hafiz Pakistan.

Indeed. We can account the generals for a lot of things, but it's absolutely not in their interests (be it as an institution or as selfish individuals) to disintegrate Pakistan. It's easy to see why. If Pakistan 'disintegrates' then it means going from one uncontested power to 3-4 different ones.

When our leaders can barely keep things running together, they're going to be hopeless when alone. Not only that, but they'll set themselves up for total personal failure in the long run. How? Eventually, one of the 3-4 powers will absorb the others.

The nature of man is that, in time, 1-2 of those powers will try conquering the others and, in turn, create a new united state in their image. One need only look at the history of lands encompassing Pakistan today to see this, especially under Muslim rule.

I don't want balkanization because I think crazy Hindus are the single greatest civilizational threat to the very presence muslims in this homeland of ours and wider south Asian region in the last 500 years
So worst-case scenario is to expose ourselves to that risk by letting go of our collective power

But I also don't want current Pakistan where we are treated like cows, sheep being told what to do what not to do, your culture is not being protected
a true federal republic as envisioned by the Chaudhary Rehmat Ali
where role of center is limited to currency, no huge army but when time comes, we are all trained, united - men, women and teenagers in the art of war and most of the power with the provinces so our hard work, policies reflect in our prosperity

I dont want break-up as that'll solve nothing instead we'll become multiple even more f-ed up versions of Pak and expose us to even more danger than we are already exposed to
but we do need a new contract with the state to figure how we'll move forward

I think it is incompetence. The generals believe they have all the answers and solutions. In reality they don't. How is it that Balochistan remains unresolved after so many years? This province should be thriving with all its resources. Balochistan should be the most successful provinve of Pakistan. It isn't after so many years. Since the generals are in charge they must answer the failures.

Pakistan is in a state of flux at this point (as is the world in general, with regards to influencing powers and their share of influence in world), so its not possible to predict the future with certainty. With social media everyone has a voice now, and with chips down its easy to sound the note of destruction at drop of a hat.

Pakistan is torn between Americans and Chinese, and I guess a decision will be made for next decade soon. Will be interesting to see, in which camp they will be. Either of these will be coming to help, if there is a possibility of balkanization as the OP suggests.

Pakistan is not torn between Americans and Chinese. Going to American or Chinese camp is not yielding the windfalls the Pakistani elite expects.

People like you dreaming fall of Pakistan since 1947 ....you continue dreaming for balkanization of Pakistan till your death. State of Pakistan, it's citizens and protectors of Pakistan would never kneel in front of evil forces. Insha Allah.
Long Live Pakistan 🇵🇰
Long Live Pak Armed Forces 🇵🇰

I have been thinking along this line since last few weeks. They way world is going next 50 years we might see survival of fittest nation and than there will be bad lands like Afghanistan. I also feel slavery coming back and not the modern day version.

Russia has stated ball rolling. I believe there will be more than few 3-4nations but if you don’t have military you are doomed and if you have one like Pakistani establishment (not personal) well you are doomed too.

Russia has started ball rolling.

No worries, people have been talking about Balkanization of Pakistan since 1947. Nothing will happen

Who are the Pakistani elite that you keep harping about?
