This is the moment Pakistan Air Force’s No-26 Squadron "Black Spiders" became first PAF unit to convert to JF-17 Thunder Block-1 in 2010.

While all the JF-17 Block-1 have been upgraded to Block-2, at the same time the much more capable JF-17C Block-3 have been rolling off the production lines thus this unit has now re-equipped with the latest state of the art fighter aircraft.

No other PAF squadron has this much drip.

I'm sure I read that No-17 "Tigers" was the first unit to convert to Block-3

@Talon
So what happened to the older JF17s of Black Spiders? Are they reassigned somewhere else? Being upgraded or overhauled? Stored/scavenged for parts/retired?

They would have been first upgraded to Block-2 and intially returned to their unit.
When say the 26 unit converted to Block-3, it's Block-2 would either be transfered to another unit or even raise a new squadron.

Recently several Block-3 appeared in videos and other footage but without their squadron badge difficult to say what unit do they belong.

Seems the other unit that has already converted to Block-3 is No-16 "Black Panther" Squadron.

Are we likely to see more JF17c after the initial order is complete or will new procurement be j10c only? (Until stealth platforms)
