Forum Theme: Light vs Dark

Hi,

We're planning to introduce a custom theme next month. Before we proceed, I'd like to get your input on whether you prefer a light or dark theme. What's your preference?

Your thoughts on the current theme in a brief response would also be appreciated.

Current theme is very nice and clean but I personally always prefer Dark theme.

BTW, are you planning on updating the mobile theme as well? For now I still see the blue theme and missing the thread widgets.

I plan to work on this theme as little as possible unless people like it as the light alternative to dark mode. I am aware of the footer so after you mentioned it, I will fix it ASAP

What you say about current theme? It's light or dark? I like it the way it is right now. Perhaps this poll should have 3rd option i.e. Current theme. Only change that should be made is green color footer similar to header instead of blue.

I have fixed the colour. I was going to have the third option as well but then I thought we are more used to the dark mode. Some people however prefers the light mode so I thought let's seek an opinion from everyone.

Usually, small forums allow you to choose between multiple themes but when you have a large community, it is better to have one seamless design.

I like the current theme. It's light, not too gimmicky. The old pdf looked like it was August 14th every day.

If people want a dark theme - maybe have a dark. Mode?

I think current theme is good enough, so keep it as it is for a couple of month or more and then think about these things. For now it's better to keep focus on import of maximum data (If not all) from old forum and having more and more members from old forums and marketing of this forum so that good international forum posters also joined this forum. Just a suggestion. No offence.

The current theme is fresh and elegant, but too bright. A dark theme option with similar attributes would be better IMO.

Otherwise we can use the darker shades of white background and it may do the job for now.

Current theme is okay but I think some tweaking could help so important details are highlighted better on the page

For example the different messages in a thread blend in because the background and message box is almost same shade. I hope that made sense.
