Houthi-Israel War: Around Yemen and Beyond - News, Updates and Discussion

Rumors that Houthi leaders died in a plane/helicopter crash in Iran.

Well,

The US technology in military equipment is next to none. That’s why they are considered The Superpower.. and that’s why no Muslim nation dare to attack Israel despite them changing the whole definition of human rights.
So US military power next to none compared to weak/mid tier powers like Middle east countries? yes sure, now compare it to its peers/near peers like China and Russia and then you find out why US prefers to fight them using alliances and proxies (kind of like Iran).

If superior military equipment doesnt translate to military victories, then it only gives us the hint as to who will lose any eventual war - US.

Since the world war, countries prefer to fight with coalition/blocks/Axis for the known reasons to everyone.

American could have fought with Afghanistan all alone but they went with the support of about 30 countries. That is the new normal of 2024. The countries in Middle East do not trust each other as they are divided in various issues and fear overthrown of their government or geographical change due to the war and furthermore they lack war experience to challenge someone like Israel (read USA as Israel itself can be defeated anytime but the USA backed by allies is a different game) so they will prefer to take a safe approach and wait in line until its their turn to be slaughtered like a good cow.

The Arabs have proven to be a bunch of coward nations otherwise the terrorism of Israel in Gaza would have stopped by now.

PS: I am anti-Hamas and don’t care even if the whole organisation is eliminated as I believe the power should always remain in the hand of the state and not the proxies of the third nation as it often leads to problems as we witnessed about Taliban in my subcontinent. But if Hamas is a terrorist organisation, I don’t have a word to explain what kind of terrorist Israel is who is busy killing children and women and torturing prisoners with rape and the entire world is watching

US technology is superior to European and Russian tech; even China may only surpass in a few areas.

The reason the US avoids direct conflict with Russia and China is not because they have superior tech, but because their tech is good enough to pierce US defences and land a few hits on the US mainland and inflict heavy damage to US assets. Unlike Muslim countries, the US doesn't have the attitude that losing a few hundred soldiers or civilians is OK so don't worry about it.

There is zero chance of any Muslim country doing a hit on the US mainland, so Israel has a blank check from the US.

Slight contradiction here.

The IDF hit Yemen's Houthis with the most powerful counter-strike against them of the war on Sunday, even exceeding the massive strike on Hodeidah in July, sources told The Jerusalem Post, and the IDF confirmed shortly thereafter.

Dozens of Israeli aircraft participated in the operation, striking 1,800 kilometers from Israeli territory, after the Houthis fired three ballistic missiles on the Tel Aviv and central Israel areas in recent weeks, including one on Saturday.

The targets included power plants and a seaport used to import oil, which the Houthis used to transfer Iranian weapons to the region, in addition to military supplies and oil, IDF reported.

Hezbollah-affiliated account Al Mayadeen and confirmed by the IDF, the targets of the strikes were oil reserves in Ras Issa and also the port of Hodeidah.

"Israeli aggression targets the city of Hodeidah," Houthi-owned Lebanese media Al Masirah posted.

The Houthi-run Al Masirah announced that the Civil Defense has begun working to put out the fire at the current power station due to the strikes.

In a statement released on the Al Masira X/Twitter, visual spokesperson for the Houthis Mohammad Abdul Salam said, “The American-backed Zionist aggression is condemned, denounced and rejected and cannot affect the will of the Yemeni people. What the Yemeni people confirm in their million weekly demonstrations is that they will not abandon Gaza and Lebanon.”

Yemeni oil company statement

Al Masirah reported that the Yemeni Oil Company issued a statement reassuring citizens that all necessary precautions had been taken, stressing that the supply in all areas under their control was completely stable.

The company warned against creating a new oil crisis in the capital, Sana'a, and the rest of the governorates, explaining that it had previously taken precautions necessary for any emergency.

Hodeidah's electricity station and airport have both been targeted

Additionally, Al Mayadeen reported that Hodeidah's electricity station and airport have both been targeted by IDF strikes.

The IDF said its intelligence arm selected targets based on where Iran has been delivering weapons to the Houthis, mixing civilian locations with military use to then attack Israel.

Commanding Officer of the Israeli Air Force Tomer reaffirmed in a statement, "Anyone who tries to harm the civilians of the State of Israel – we will reach them.”

The IDF added that the Houthis have been attacking Israel throughout this past year, not only this past month.

Over the year, the Houthis launched many ballistic missiles and drones at Eilat. In July, a drone from the Houthis killed a civilian in Tel Aviv.

Saturday's missile attack triggered sirens across central Israel, including in Tel Aviv, and although shrapnel was recovered on Route 375 near Tzur Hadassah, no injuries were reported.

Also a warning to Houthi government that Yemen's economic infrastructure is on the line due to its anti-shipping campaign. Might also be an attempt to create unrest there. It also won't surprise me that IDF is collecting information about Houthi government and leadership structure.
