Indian-Morocco defence Deal

although India itself is negotiating with America to purchase the STRYKER M1135 for an improved engine and better capabilities with full technology transfer.
India is not negotiating to purchase Stryker, it's being pushed down our throats because either it's a bundled deal with the F 414 engine or because NSA of both countries made some sort of secret deal (likely related to R&AW and the Pannu case) which we are paying in this way.

If the morrocans are buying 220 units what is the total deal worth to Tata systems
If all 220 units are standard APC variant then at $ 200k a piece 44 million dollars in total but if it's the IFV variant with the Israeli turret then it could be a lot more, possibly double that amount

You missed a whole bloody ZERO.
It's 2.5-3M per piece. Compare to 5M$ Stryker.
So @harpy1 deal is about ,500M$

The price of $ 200 in itself is very low.

The lowest price for the vehicle is equivalent to $ 1 million. If Morocco were to buy an engine and chassis, the price might be more than $ 200,000, in addition to other components. Morocco does not manufacture armored steel, armored glass, or even vision systems for the vehicle. All of this makes Morocco pay at least $ 500,000, regardless of the combat towers. Also, unlike the other version, the vehicles are not all APC, but maintenance vehicles, ambulances, and other equipment. Let us clarify the global prices.

The cheapest vehicle in Europe is the Serbian Yugoimport Serbia Lazanski 8x8 Infantry, at a price of 2 million euros.

The Serbian Lazar 3M vehicles are priced at about $ 1.5 million. Other European vehicles are double the price.

In Asia, the K808 White Tiger is priced at $ 2 million.

Even the Patria 6x6 vehicle is priced in quantities of 300+. The vehicle is priced at $ 1.6 million.

Vehicles such as FAHD-300 4*4 price is 900 thousand dollars
Therefore, the price of WhAP 8x8 vehicles is very low. 200 thousand dollars is unrealistic, especially since there are production licenses sold to Morocco

Cost of 1 Vehicle according to this document is 155 lakh rupees or 1,55,00,000 which converts to 186,000 dollars which I rounded off to 200k for all the bells and whistles added
220 × 200 × 1000 equals 44,000,000 or 44 million dollars, heck even the CBRN Variant will cost no more than 400k which will still roughly translate to only 88 million dollars not 500 so what am I missing here ?
Stryker costs 5M$ in 2011. Thats 45Cr INR and Kestrel costs 23Cr INR now. Pasting from US gov procurement pdf.

Correct in 2011 itself Stryker cost 5M$. No way Tata could build something at 200K in 2024.

Why ate we not ordering both kestrel and whap in the 1000 each mark
They look really good vehicles

It’s your tax money and your vote - make it count.
Indians don't vote for their military leadership. This neglect of domestic products, among various other puzzling policies, is for them to answer for. I doubt that a change in political parties in the government would lead to a change in such matters.

Its to do with mindset (along with quality and customer service of course), when it comes to local products. Its 77 years, so give or take 3 to 4 generations since independence (3 to 4 generations isn't much in a independent nation's time line).

Older gen in my family talked (they gone now) of great Brit products or German products, after that came Japan / America etc. People can be de-colonized physically, but takes long time to be de-colonized mentally.

When the mindset is that foreign is the top notch one, anything else comes next.

Takes time even if its sad

You vote for accountability - it’s your tax money, your “employees” are using it as they wish. Vote for change in that process and mentality - ask for accountability.

You've maybe spent too much time in the US. Democracy, voting, and accountability doesn't work that way in India. At least, not yet.

There is more money to be made by importing and everyone in the government to the military is in on the cut. That plus the belief that foreign equipment is usually better.

This is a slap in the face of the Indian MoD and the Armed Forces. (Hopefully) someone there realises that this should be a wakeup call.

Ive spent enough time in the US to know these are implemented through greater awareness and education.

It comes through cultural change and willingness to use local even if not perfect.
In a way this QUAD situation and sudden openness of the US is damaging to this cause but it also provides the opportunity to bring back knowledge and keep improving locally.

After all, if TATA can now compete with products in the civilian market after buying JLR then maybe that is where one puts money next into defense. Pay the SME’s abroad / bring them home and teach people. That’s how the LCA CLAW team worked and that is how you convince your military folks that like fancy foreign toys that Dassault is as much a brand as it is capability.

You can bring the capability , but your own brand - tarnished by the British to make you think you’re second class humans incapable of producing anything good… it’s up to you to love and nurture.

I think that Stryker is linked to JAVELIN deal
