The best part about this missile is it can be quad packed in our upcoming hot launched UVLS, And the even better part is Astra mk 2's dimensions are almost the same as Astra mk 1 so in future we can see a VL-SRSAM Mk 2 with upto 70km range (Astra mk 2 range is upto 180 km).

Just Imagine how much of a capability increase Quad packed VL-SRSAM Mk 2 would be for our Ships compared to our current load out of just 32 Barak 8.

Infact even Barak 8 can be quad packed, the UVLS with be 0.6m wideVL - SR SAM_1__01-1.png

A ship can only have so many air defense layers. VLSRSAM and Barak-8 is what IN have circled around...

Very happy to accommodate you. If you have friends, unlikely though the prospects are, named Rajput and Ranjit, we should be delighted to oblige them as well.
Lots of Rajputs here in Punjab and Sindh, they go by surnames like Rana, Roy, Rai, Bhatti, Khokar, Manj/Munj and a few more that I can't remember. Both my paternal and maternal ancestors migrated from Ludhiana to Pakistan.

Do queue them up.
The Indian Navy is usually quite obliging. I am not too sure about Bhatti, as it might lead to internal strife between Jaisalmer and the Rathor kingdoms, Bikaner and Jodhpur once again.

Our part of the world, the bits you got rid of, Ray and Ray Chaudhuri are land owning titles. Even we impoverished gentry have one or two toffs among our ranks.

My ancestors were feudal lords. They were specifically known as Korewa Rajput. Our supposed lore was that our lands were so massive that even if you were riding a tough horse, you would only be able to explore some fraction of our land in a day. This claim is probably exaggerated and I for one don't feel even remotely bad for them losing all their lands. This humbling experience was necessary, especially when their ego was higher than Mount Everest. Plus, I would rather live in a tent than spend money that was attained through oppression.

Some day, you must remind me to tell you about my grandfather.

In Pakistan, Chaudhry is a title given to the Arain/Raeen people.

Tell me about it - married into it. During the pandemic we were running out of masks so I took an onion skin and gave it to my wife to wear… suffice to say she was the partly amused and very miffed.. if you know you know.

This is really cool - considering those Kashin-IIs must be hitting what? 30-40 years or more?

Interesting that the superstructure is fully packed in so that Aesa get to be on a stilt - with possibly a blind spot due to the superstructure.

I have had pleasure to know some Pakistani Rajputs....very interesting people....and often some unique sense of foreboding in their perspective at times given what you describe here.

Coincidentally as I read your RANA post, Verdi's dies irae started in what I'm listening to. It was great timing lol. Good accompaniment music to the battles the Rajputs have had over course of time.

Rajput class are on their way out

The 3 remaining ships being 35-38 years old

I don’t know why the Navy is still spending money in upgrading them

Is it because they don’t want their surface combatants numbers to go down before Nilgiri class enter service

Because frankly,
The Project 18 class destroyers are at least 8 years away and I don’t see the remaining Rajputs staying in service for that long
