Chennai: India’s defence exports will touch Rs 24,000 crore by the end of FY24, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said here on Friday. At an interactive session on ‘Transforming India into the new decade’ in a city college here, she said, defence exports was to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore so far in the current financial year.
“During a meeting, the defence minister was bullish that the value of exports will hit Rs 24,000 crore in the next three months. Our defence forces are also signing MoUs with the MSMEs engaged in defence production for procurement for a period of 10 years, if the products meet the prescribed standards,” she said.

Modi promised self sufficiency in 2015
It was very smart move
It takes decades to build a good self sufficient tech and industry base for military power
India is half way there
Carriers
Destroyers
Nuke Subs
Combat helos planes
Radars missles
Are here

And we are buying in tranches and improving each tranche
It's steady progress
But I feel an explosion is coming
Astra mark 2 and 3 is world class
Our warships look incredible
Tejas two and Amca will.be euro class
It's Indian Swadeshi muscle

Good work finally in a decade we can be self sufficient.

The only missing component is an indigenous turbofan engine for fighter jets. I hope that in the next 10 years, India can perfect this technology.
