Chennai: India’s defence exports will touch Rs 24,000 crore by the end of FY24, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said here on Friday. At an interactive session on ‘Transforming India into the new decade’ in a city college here, she said, defence exports was to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore so far in the current financial year.
“During a meeting, the defence minister was bullish that the value of exports will hit Rs 24,000 crore in the next three months. Our defence forces are also signing MoUs with the MSMEs engaged in defence production for procurement for a period of 10 years, if the products meet the prescribed standards,” she said.
