According to the officials in these 2 videos, PF-X will :
1. Be a completely new aircraft
2. 4.5+ gen
3. have a more powerful engine than the current (Jf-17) jet.
4. Have mostly locally designed avionics, radar, EW suite and other subsystems.
5. Have more range than the JF-17, more difficult to detect on Radar
6. take to the sky in 4,5 or 6 years (they are not sure themselves).

3. Will have a more powerful engine than the current (Jf-17) jet
4. Most of the avionics, EW, Radar sensors & subsystems are being locally developed.
5. Will take to the sky in 4,5 or 6 years
6. Will have more range than the JF-17, more difficult to detect on Radar

So something like the KFX program..... Are the Turks and Saudis invested in this ?
Edit:- if the aircraft is said to fly in 4 to 5 hears as per the interview then we should expect a mockup of the finalized design next year.

The official in the second video seemed very excited about the space program.
Also mentioned that they are launching a new passive radar next year which can detect enemy jets without emitting any signal of its own.

Yes, something like the KFX program.....but way less ambitious.
IMHO I don't think either the Turks or the Saudis will be interested in this project.
Turkish aviation industry is already too far ahead of us to gain anything relevant by investing in this project.
They would probably prefer to complement/pair their KAAN fighter with a stealthy UCAV than a light manned aircraft.
The Saudis would also not be interested in acquiring a light fighter.

IMO PAF should have focused on developing stealthy UCAVs instead. Those would have made more sense given the current state state of our aviation industry & the funds we can realistically allocate to its development.
