Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

So, first US will lift blockade and only yhen iran will lift blockade? Else iran will do blockade ?

I am not shocked after watching this Iranian TV clip. Irgc is a notorious rogue militia. They killed politicians in Lebanon and Iraq to gain control. If you read those cases, you eyes will open wide. Iran is their stronghold and the whole country is hostage of these criminals.

Pakistan doesn't care what irgc does. Pakistan is doing all this to make sure that real enemies will not gain control of coastal regions of Iran because Hormuz is equally important for Pakistan now and ground invasion helps Israel in coming closer and probably establishing bases next to Pakistani Balochistan.

We are all doing it for Americans as they are old and reliable partners. All this brotherhood is just a drama. Nobody cares what happens in Iran. Real worry is what if they lost?

These people in Iran, which is irgc, they are arrogant and didn't learn anything from destruction as they don't care about civilians. This is the same government that executed thousands just for protest so we are dealing with barbarians.

Irgc doesn't trust Pakistan and Pakistan doesn't care. Pakistan only want stability in Iran. These fools are out of their mind. They seized two ships in the morning. It looks like an all out war will break out soon. We should stop communication. Americans are forcing us in this issue.

I have full confidence that these talks will produce positive results. Once Pakistan saves the world from US and Iran, Pakistan needs to save itself by taking decisive action against this Jewish Family and their paid minions hell bent on destroying Pakistan citizens.

What Pakistan needs is get rid of people like you. Getting rid of illiterate mindsets which values conspiracies & irrelevant or personal things over hard facts is important for Pakistan to progress.

blaming on tv while Pakistan is doing utmost to protect iran but what we are getting tis this. iran playing double on tv criticizing and while govt praising

Unbelievable, I never knew Iranian controlled state TV will now be talking against Pakistan. "tilted towards US, not neutral", "public opinion shaping against us". what lame excuses!

Just restart the war already if not happy with mediation or ceasefire but don't show your trueself.

BTW, Why Iran needs indirect messaging. Just sit face to face and negotiate directly. Its not Pakistan which has to be blamed. Public opinion is shaping because everyone is seeing for themselves.

Thats. Very shameful behaviour coming out of Iranian TV . All Pakistan wanted was to save Muslim neighbour . It’s not Pak fault if you two warring parties can not come to a deal .

You're right. But they do need to be careful. Even the Field Marshall cannot guarantee Donald Trump will stand by his word. Their leadership is being targeted. When Araghchi declared the Strait open on the FM's suggestion, Trump decided to maintain his blockade. The only way out of this, barring a hugely destructive war the consequences of which will last decades, is with Pakistani intermediation (quietly) supplemented by the Chinese.

That's the Trump stupid decision which derailed the Talks. Made no sense. But it does seem like Iran has multiple poles of power, which is never good for any nation, especially for a nation under grave external threats for such a long time.

Launching an all out assault using heavy aerial bombing is the only option left for the Americans to capitulate Iran but easier said then done. Plus, if you saw the Richard Haas/Barak Ravid CNN video I posted yesterday, it slipped from their lips that the American missile arsenal is much diminished: That's the first time I see credible, MIC allied American analyst admitting that.

Does Iran realize American blockade will ruin them? USA just need to sit back and do nothing. Saudi Arabia will be least affected.

Slowly but surely Iran will start losing international support.

The real culprit is the mea culpa of west and the exaggerated defensive power of Iran ..
In social media and MSM Iran is being portrayed as David versus Goliath... it's getting in the Iranian heads .

Hard to find 40 minutes to watch anything but couldn't stop this one. Ali Vaez is also now my favorite Iran expert along with Trita Parsi and Vali Nasr. Some takeaways:
1) The Talks didn't happen because the Americans violated the ceasefire agreement by doing the Blockade.
2) Talks could still happen but both sides will have to blink at the same time
3) Iran does have multiple poles of power but they still come together in the Supreme NSC where the IRGC holds more weight.
4) Most regional countries didn't want this war
5) Bahrain and UAE are more against Iran but Qatar and Oman want to get along with Iran. Qatar may even sign a Mutual Defense agreement with Pakistan. Saudi Arabia is backing the Pakistan-led diplomacy.
6) The missile inceptors protecting Israel are dangerously low.
7) The offensive missile inventory to target Iran is also stretched, with having to divert resources from other parts of the world.
8) Israel doesn't have the 'mow the lawn' option on Iran without the American approval; the mowing is unlikely in future.
9) Iran maybe reduced to a militarily potent, inward looking nation like North Korea unless it connects with the external world.
10) The Blockade is unlikely to affect Iran as much as much of the world; it was Trump's miscalculation
11) Post-war, the regional countries will be in a new alignment where some may even include Iran
12) History, as of now at least, will not be kind to Trump for waging this war.
13) Solutions could be found for the Strait and the fissile material.

The FT only allows three people to read a gift article. Apologies for those that are unable to read it. Overall positive. But spells out the issues and risks. Most amusing is the Indian bots in the comments section. Pakistan lives rent free in their minds...

They allowed their land to have bases made by Americans - these bases were used to attack a sovereign nation. This nation has therefore the right to defend itself. Is that so difficult to understand?
These arab states are sitting on the same side as Israel. Sit back and let that sink in.
Having US bases on their lands is sovereign right of those countries. Letting those bases used for attacks on another sovereign country (Iran in this case) gives the right to that country to target those bases in return.

However, many Arab countries publicly announced several times before the war started that they would not allow the US to use the bases in their countries against Iran. I have no reason not to believe those official statements. However targeting those bases, even they are not used against Iran, just because they belong to the US is a clear violation of their sovereignty. It's just like attacking American companies in the Middle-East just because those companies belong to USA.

Mixing lies and half truths doesn't serve anyone except bringing death and destruction to all. I understand the Iranian mentality of 'if we lose, Arabs must lose' and it's no more than blackmailing approach. That's why Iran attacked their airports, hotels, buildings, ports, and desalination plants, etc. It's not just the bases. Rather existence of those bases was used to attack the civil infrastructure in those Arab countries.

Such serious provocations are what Zionists have wanted to achieve. If Arabs start attacking Iran in return, it will start a war between Arabs and Iran that will be fought for generations while Zionists might be enjoying all this death and destruction sitting on a side. That war will be turned into a Shia-Sunni war by the use of perception manipulation, lies, and deception by the enemies of Islam and the Muslims. It will be fueled by weapon supplies to both sides. Iran has experienced all this in Iran-Iraq war.

Thanks to President Trump, the Muslim world has found a rare opportunity to come together. They need to develop a collective personality with a collective wisdom to form a collective military and diplomatic strategy to put forth a collective front to go for a collective baegain and negotiation with the USA....

I am pretty sure President Trump, being a businessman first and foremost, would appreciate it.....
I wish. But it will not. Maybe a small group of four or fives Muslim states come united to make a military alliance.
How can you expect an all inclusive united Ummah when Iran and its proxies hate and kill other Muslims as much or more as the Zionists.
Just coming out of this war without a Shia-Muslim war will be a no less achievement. Evil is stronger at the moment than we can imagine.
