Tehran says negotiations with US continue via Pakistan, both sides have sent comments on recent Iranian proposal​

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has said both Iran and the US have sent their comments on the recent Iranian proposal, Reuters reports.

Baqaei revealed that Tehran’s demands include the release of Iranian frozen funds and the lifting of sanctions against it, Reuters added.

“The Americans presented proposals, and we also provided our views,” he was quoted as saying by Tasnim News Agency.

Baqaei affirmed that negotiations with the US were continuing with Pakistan’s mediation.

He added that Washington “raised speculations regarding enrichment and uranium materials, which we stated have no basis”.

It remains to be seen if iran will return the two time favors.

They can go talk with india or make deals with them, india needs such sh*tty alliances for its usual daramay bazi and randi rona. The real test of iran is "Will they support Pakistan and its causes on diplomatic forums?" Yet to be seen.

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi landed in Tehran on a previously unannounced two-day visit, which diplomatic sources said was linked to Pakistan’s continuing efforts to revive the stalled Iran-US peace process after President Donald Trump rejected Tehran’s latest response to American proposals.

Diplomatic sources in Islamabad said the unscheduled trip was part of Pakistan’s continuing shuttle diplomacy aimed at preventing the negotiations from collapsing entirely after momentum generated by earlier rounds of talks in Islamabad slowed sharply.

The visit, officially framed around bilateral and border security cooperation, came as the fragile ceasefire brokered earlier through Pakistani mediation continued to hold unevenly amid intermittent tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and prolonged disruption to global energy shipping.

Mr Naqvi is expected to hold meetings with senior Iranian officials during the visit, including Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, with discussions likely to cover both bilateral security matters and the wider regional situation.

The visit came hot on the heels of President Trump’s trip to China and his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which produced no visible breakthrough on Iran despite speculation beforehand that Beijing could quietly encourage Tehran toward compromise.

You can't manage/negotiate with any party with seasoned or skilled diplomats. Personal relations/Those who owe you favors are what making a difference in starting/stopping this war.

Sure, personal relations are important in foreign relations, but taking everything into account holistically, if you think Naqvi is being sent everywhere and being used for everything because of his skilled diplomacy skills or for something else, then that's just a very naive view of everything.

Who do you suggest should've gone to deliever a message? Considering no one wants a skilled negotiator/diplomat taking part in negotiations and only carriers/messangers. Select few are pulling strings in background using their couriers. Trump has its errand boys since oman talks, Khonenai had its messangers which the new one retained it. Asim Muneer has Shahbaz and Ishaq dar who did manage to convince Saudi/Turkey/Egypt to side with them and kickstart negotiations and Naqvi as an errand boy now due to Shia angle.

Since you have an amnesia, you forgot Pakistan strategic defense partner is Saudia and another strategic partner is Qatar which is supplying LNG even now. Both countries have deposited billions of dollars in Pak Forex just because UAE turned rival. ...

I know it was reported that both Saudi Arabia and Qatar would deposit $5 billion dollars after the UAE repayment, but I've not seen any news that Qatar has actually deposited any amount to date.
