is a chatbot developed by Microsoft. It was launched as Bing Chat on February 7, 2023, as a built-in feature for Microsoft Bing and Microsoft Edge.[1] It is based on a large language model, and has been suggested by Microsoft as a supported replacement for the discontinued Cortana.[2][3] Over the course of 2023, Microsoft began to unify the Copilot branding across its various chatbot products.
Copilot utilizes the Microsoft Prometheus model, which was built on top of OpenAI's GPT-4 foundational large language model, which in turn has been fine-tuned using both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques. Copilot's conversational interface style resembles that of ChatGPT. Copilot is able to cite sources, create poems and songs, and use its Image Creator to generate images based on text prompts. It is able to understand and communicate in numerous languages and dialects
At its Build 2023 conference, Microsoft announced its plans to integrate Copilot into Windows 11, allowing users to access it directly through the taskbar

I have been using it for quite some time.

It's too bad that Microsoft disbanded their smartphone division.

Imagine a smartphone that is highly integrated with Copilot.

For now, you can only access Copilot through the app, not fully integrated with the phone operating system, on the base level.

Finally, Microsoft has successfully integrated Copilot AI into its Microsoft Launcher for Android smartphones

Microsoft's Launcher app for Android gets the Copilot AI treatment in the latest update in the beta channel.

What you need to know

  • Microsoft has updated its Launcher app for Android to version 6.240402.2.1139391 in the beta channel.
  • The update brings Microsoft Copilot integration into the launcher app.
  • Microosft has been slipping its Copilot AI integration into nearlly all its app, but its Android launcher has lagged behind in development in the last year.

It took longer than expected, but Microsoft has finally added its Copilot AI to its Microsoft Launcher app for Android smartphones.

In an update dated May 27th, version 6.240402.2.1139391, at least for those enrolled in the beta (via the Google Play store), get a nice welcome message that the app now has Copilot weaved throughout.

What's new: Microsoft Launcher v6.240402.2.1139391

Copilot in Your Feed We're thrilled to enhance your Microsoft Launcher experience with the integration of Copilot right into your feed. This update brings your everyday Al companion closer to you:

  • Effortless Access: Copilot is now just a swipe away, ready to assist you with answers and content creation.
  • Creative Power: Generate images and text directly from your mobile feed using simple words.
  • Pro Performance: For our Copilot Pro users, enjoy a more responsive and swift interaction.
More specifically, the search widget now has the Copilot icon instead of the Bing one, which seemed really out of place for the last six months.

But the bigger change is now in the Feed feature, which users can access by swiping right to reveal Glance, News, and now, in between them, Copilot.

The UI for Copilot here is the same as the web version or the standalone Copilot app, letting users ask questions via audio, typing, or photo upload.

Of course, like everything else, users who aren't into Copilot can not have Copilot show in the Feed or hide the Feed altogether. You can even reorder Copilot to make it first or last in your feed.

Interestingly, compared to the full Copilot standalone Android app, the Launcher version seems to lack some advanced features like Designer, Vacation Planner, Cooking Assistant, Fitness Trainer, and Notebook, which are displayed in the full app along with a Copilot Pro subscription.

Either way, you now have easier access to Microsoft Copilot, whether you rely on Microsoft Launcher, prefer the standalone app, or enjoy using both.

Copilot>ChatGPT>Gemini according to my experience.
Google is integrating Gemini with android overall that's a different thing, I was just listing it's performance as an ai service.

I do feel the same thing.

After using Copilot for some time, I recently back again to ChatGPT.

I notice that ChatGPT mostly answers questions using its own database, it's until I ask more complicated questions, then it will search the internet for answers.

While Copilot, whatever I ask something, it will search the internet using Bing search engine and provide links to the quote it uses to answer.

For Gemini, during the first release, it worked well, but later after a certain update, it was broken. I don't know if Google has already fixed it or not.

ChatGPT and Gemini(Bard when it released) were really good, post updates it has been dumbed down a lot. Gemini I'd say is the worst right now, for complex questions all I get is a 2 liner answer which barely makes sense.
ChatGPT relatively is fine but it has that "robotic feel" to it's responses. But they're offering ChatGPT 4o access for free for some duration so that's good.
Copilot has "some restricted" access to GPT4 but it works the best right now. Responses are detailed and elaborate.

I wonder if its like google who suggest women at pregnancy smoke or its algorithm is more refined

Microsoft just launched powerful AI ‘agents’ that could completely transform your workday — and challenge Google’s workplace dominance

Microsoft announced today a major expansion of its artificial intelligence tools with the “Microsoft 365 Copilot Wave 2 Spring release,” introducing new AI “agents” designed to function as digital colleagues that can perform complex workplace tasks through deep reasoning capabilities.

In an exclusive interview, Aparna Chennapragada, Chief Product Officer of Experiences and Devices at Microsoft, told VentureBeat the company is building toward a vision where AI serves as more than just a tool — becoming an integral collaborator in daily work.

“We are around the corner from a big moment in the AI world,” Chennapragada said. “It started out with all of the model advances, and everyone’s been really excited about it and the intelligence abundance. Now it’s about making sure that intelligence is available to all of the folks, especially at work.”

The announcement accompanies Microsoft’s 2025 Work Trend Index, a comprehensive research report based on surveys of 31,000 workers across 31 countries, documenting the emergence of what Microsoft calls “Frontier Firms” — organizations restructuring around AI-powered intelligence and human-agent collaboration.

How Microsoft’s new ‘Researcher’ and ‘Analyst’ agents bring deep reasoning to enterprise work

At the center of Microsoft’s vision are two new AI agents named Researcher and Analyst, powered by OpenAI’s deep reasoning models. These agents are designed to handle complex research tasks and data analysis that previously required specialized human expertise.

“Think of them as you know, like a really smart researcher and a data scientist in your pocket,” Chennapragada explained. She described how the Researcher agent recently helped her prepare for a business review by connecting information across various sources.

“I was using it to say, hey, I have an important business review coming up… pull all the past meetings, past emails, figure out the CRM data, and then say, ‘Give me constructive, sharp inputs on how I should be able to push the ball forward for this meeting,'” she said. “Because of the deep reasoning, it actually made connections that I hadn’t thought of.”

These agents will be available through a new “Agent Store,” which will also feature agents from partners like Jira, Monday.com, and Miro, as well as custom agents built by organizations themselves.

Beyond chat: How Copilot is becoming the ‘browser for AI’ in Microsoft’s enterprise strategy

Microsoft is positioning Copilot as a central organizing layer for AI interactions, similar to how web browsers organize internet content—not just a chatbot interface.

“I look at Copilot as the browser for the AI world,” Chennapragada said. “In internet, we had websites, but we had the browser to organize the layer. For us, Copilot is this organizing layer, this browser for this AI world.”

This vision extends beyond simple text interactions. The company is introducing Copilot Notebooks, which allows users to ground AI interactions in specific collections of files and meeting notes. A new Copilot Search feature provides AI-powered enterprise search capabilities across multiple applications.

“Today, most of AI, we have equated it to chat,” Chennapragada noted. “Sometimes I feel like we’re in the DOS pre-GUI era, where you have this amazing intelligence, and you’re like, ‘oh, we have an AOL dial-up modem stuck on top of it.'”

To address this limitation, Microsoft is bringing OpenAI’s GPT-4o AI image generation capabilities to business settings with a new Create feature, allowing employees to generate and modify brand-compliant images.

Employee burnout and workplace interruptions: The ‘capacity gap’ driving Microsoft’s AI focus

Microsoft’s research reveals a significant “Capacity Gap” — 53% of leaders say productivity must increase, but 80% of the global workforce reports lacking the time or energy to do their work. The company’s telemetry data shows employees face 275 interruptions per day from meetings, emails, or messages—an interruption every two minutes during core work hours.

“There’s so much more pent-up, latent demand for work and productivity and output,” Chennapragada said. “That statistic really stood out for me, that there’s so much more pent-up, latent demand for work and productivity and output. So I see this as an augmentation, less of a job displacement.”

The research also indicates a shift in AI adoption patterns. While last year’s adoption was largely employee-led, this year shows a more top-down approach, with 81% of business decision makers saying they want to rethink core strategy and operations with AI.

“That’s a shift between even last year, where it was much more bottom-up and employee-led,” Chennapragada noted. “What that tells us is there needs to be a much more of a top-down AI strategy, but also AI products that you roll out in the enterprise with security, with compliance, with all of the guardrails.”

Rise of the ‘agent boss’: How Microsoft envisions employees managing digital workforces

Microsoft predicts a fundamental restructuring of organizations around what it calls “Work Charts”—more fluid, outcome-driven team structures powered by agents that expand employee capabilities.

This reorganization will require determining the optimal “human-agent ratio” for different functions, a metric that will vary by task and team. The company expects every employee to become an “agent boss”—someone who manages AI agents to amplify their impact.

“For us at Microsoft, it’s not enough if 2% of our customers’ company adopts AI, it is really bringing the entire company along. That’s when you get the full productivity gains,” Chennapragada emphasized.

The company’s research shows leaders are currently ahead of employees in embracing this mindset, with 67% of leaders familiar with agents compared to just 40% of employees.

To help organizations navigate this transition, Microsoft is enhancing its Copilot Control System with new capabilities that allow IT administrators to manage agents across the organization.

“What happens if you have all of these [agents] running around? Our customers have been asking for it,” Chennapragada said. “What we’ve built is a Copilot control system where IT admins can look and say, what’s the compliance, what’s the security, what’s the data privacy, what agents are in the system? How do I actually manage them?”

Research shows ‘Frontier Firms’ leading AI adoption outperform competitors by wide margins

The business implications extend beyond productivity gains. Microsoft’s research shows that 71% of workers at “Frontier Firms”—organizations at the leading edge of AI adoption—say their company is thriving, compared to just 37% globally.

For small and medium businesses, the democratization of intelligence may level the playing field, allowing smaller teams to operate with capabilities once reserved for much larger organizations.

While 33% of leaders are considering headcount reductions related to AI, 78% are also considering hiring for new AI-specific roles, including AI trainers, data specialists, security specialists, and AI agent specialists.

LinkedIn data included in the research shows that the most prominent AI startups have grown headcount by 20.6% year-over-year—nearly twice the pace of Big Tech companies at 10.6%.

“As incumbents adapt and challengers scale, like we saw in the dot-com boom, the rules of talent and competition are being rewritten in real time,” the company noted in its report.

As Microsoft’s new AI tools roll out beginning in late May, the stage is set for what Chennapragada calls “the browser for the AI world.” Just as previous technological revolutions fundamentally changed how we work, the shift to human-agent teams promises to transform not just what work gets done—but who, or what, does it.

'No Longer Optional': Microsoft Staff Mandated to Use AI at Work, According to a New Report

Anew report from Business Insider claims that Microsoft is considering formal metrics for evaluating how much employees use AI during the workday.

The outlet viewed an email from Julia Liuson, president of the developer division at Microsoft, which told managers to include time spent using internal AI tools, both in-house and from the competition, in employee performance reviews.

"AI is now a fundamental part of how we work," Liuson wrote in the email. "Just like collaboration, data-driven thinking, and effective communication, using AI is no longer optional — it's core to every role and every level."

AI use at work is already on the rise. This week, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff told Bloomberg that AI was handling half of all work at his company.

AI is taking care of "30% to 50% of the work at Salesforce now," Benioff said.

Meanwhile, a new report from SignalFire, a venture capital firm that monitors the job movements of over 650 million employees on LinkedIn, found that advances in AI have already led big tech companies to reduce the hiring of new graduates (down 25% from 2023 to 2024).

First thing I "deleted" on computer

Love the experience of computer with no AI
AI is being "force fed" to masses , there are large number of people who do not wish to engage with this tech

No need for AI in personal life of people

If I need to draw funny picture , it can be done on another website not on my personal computer

USE Of AI : (Most of it No need)
  • Copyrighted Art , created a new image
  • Image generation , most of time image is wrong 30 min wasted
  • Asking AI for search summary , sometimes ok but alot of time just copying pasting info from web , and web data can be wrong
  • 5000 notification in 1 hour , no Thanks, pop up after popup , suggestions and reviews No Thanks
  • Fabricated music , again Copy right violations

Majority of AI related data is "attained by " theft of personal data which corporations steal from social media sites

Sometimes the search result summary can be useful but I still would prefer to validate the source of news
  • No trust on AI Data the old fashioned , sources on published item is best way to validate truth

The idealogy of taking data "Summarized" from some Corporations seems quite counter productive as Corporatin would control excessive sense of what is right or wrong

Can you write the same in Chinese AI threads instead of just the American AI threads. This is like the 3rd time.

Plus according to your Chinese location flag you are there so you must have deleted if off a Harmony OS computer since "they have taken over in China with 1 Billion installs" according to the latest PDF mantras..

Well the problem I see with AI adoption is , it is being shoved thru people's throats, alot of people quietly state they are waiting to leave workforce in 5-10 years so they will never have to deal with the AI mess at work.

1- I don't recall a referendum , in each province or state to inquire if people feel comfortable to have AI inserted into their day to day lives

2- Corporations don't have any morals , they can steal data and sell it to next highest bidder

3- Corporations don't have a plan to pay residual compensation to people who work along side AI , so once the AI is fully trained and they get fired they will get some income because AI will be doing their job

The Human Mind or Soul , attains it's balance thru forcing it's mind to be critical and analytical. I think the Humans across the globe deserve a right to vote on Subject

Acceptable Use of AI

Some task that needs large number of counting

Example

  • Count planets and stars
  • Analyze the composition of elements in Atmosphere of planets
  • Create real life map of Observable Universe

Only if the Energy Demands of AI can be satisfied without heating up the planet or causing massive rains or floods.

Example
  • Medicine testing
  • X-ray observation comparing data with million other samples in system

I just don't like the idea of AI being used in homes or offices where it is not needed

Wrong Application

Using AI to create Bots to post fake posts (Wrong application)
Using AI to create fake articles (Copy Right issues stealing from original author)
Using AI to create images (Copyright issues for stealing artwork already created by artist globally )
Using AI to steal code samples from Human coders without paying royalty
Using AI bots to publish stuff to Social Media (more junk on internet)
Using AI bots feeding it DNA samples captured from humans illegally for unknown purpose

Other issues ...recent news 1 year ago
There are quite a few companies buying data for DNA data of users , but purchasing the whole company . People did not consent to this data being sold but that company does not exist
  • The company who bought this was not given the data by people but people's data was stolen/bought after company takeover
  • This kind of acts done by corporations are unregulated happening because politicians are busy with other matters

When you ask AI a question , it gives you an answer but it can't tell you specifically how it attained that data or knowledge ? Did it steal it ? Someone spoon fed it ? What it considers Moral may be imoral in other society of Humans on planet

Usage of AI in War
  • Quite concerning aspect and quite dangerous to all humans

My AI Exposure :
I haves test drove some image generating AI (I laughed at few of these)

User basic Q/A based AI to understand how Corporations are using it

No Deep Dive Theological debates with AI Agent but have seen some folks use conversational approach

Test Drove some music applications for AI as End User

No experience examination of USA vs China AI adoption
