Based on the report, It took off from HAL facility. So I would assume this was a check flight post overhaul/upgrade.

That‘s my info too … allegedly it was a test flight right after maintenance by HAL

Don‘t worry? Is this the way the IAF handles a multi-million $$$ crash of its most capable fighter jet?

On the one side - I remember in the Rafale-M thread - one of you s said „now all is fine concerning reliability since we will soon make new engines in India“ and then this??

Anyway, at least the pilots are safe.
