Sorry No sex here, but since I have your attention, please stay with me for one moment.

Did you know that every hour as many as 47 people in Pakistan die due to sudden cardiac arrests? Why is this important when we have services like 1122? Because ordinary people like you reading this now and learn an emergency medical procedure known as CPR which stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It can help save a life during cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs. Remember that in Pakistan in major cities like Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Peshawar etc it can take Rescue 1122 between 7 and 11 minutes to arrive at the casualty's location, sometimes it may take longer.

When seconds count, CPR helps buy time!

This is where you come in! A person trained in CPR is the vital link in the chain of survival!

And did you know that with just a little training and willingness you, yes you can help save lives or at least buy valuable time for the casualty for the ambulance to arrive and provide advanced care.

Every year we promise ourselves that we will learn a new language, go on that fad diet or finally get that six pack, well whether you kept to your gym routine or diet plan or binged on doughnuts, I don't judge.

However if you just spend a few minutes, you could learn a life skill that may very well help you save a life.

CPR is as easy as A.B.C

My mother’s cousin just died of a heart attack about 20 hours ago. It feels so awful because he was young and he has such little children.
I am really sorry to for your loss. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. May Allah (SWT) grant you and his children patience and may Allah (SWT) grant him a high reward in heaven. Ameen.

Watching his young children crying over a WhatsApp video call, during a break at work really fucked me up. I’ve just been in a weird mood today.

Loss of a loved one is always traumatic, anything I say now will sound hollow to you, but my heart and prayers are with you and your family.

I’m okay. It’s just the kids I really felt bad about. Watching them roh pitt was.. there’s really no way to explain it.

Afterwards a colleague at work randomly shared that he had suffered a heart attack and was in a coma for 2 weeks but survived.

And finally I come home to open up pdf and read your thread.

Might be a coincidence. Maybe not?

The universe works in mysterious ways. You know when I first started to teach First aid in Pakistan so many years ago so many people pooh-pooh'd the idea saying "yeh doctor ka kaam hain".

Until one day, one of my course participants sent me a SMS saying sir, your training helped me save my family members life. I too have suffered a death in the family where I was powerless to help in anyway, and so when I learned emergency medicine, I promised to share my knowledge with as many people as possible.

You will notice the apathy in this forum, despite my clickbait title, only a handful of people have engaged with this thread. This is sadly the problem, people don't understand the importance of being equipped with knowledge and skills to help save lives, most live in a bubble of complacency where they believe help is but a call away.

What if one day you pick up and dial 999/911 and NO one answers? What will you do then?

The funny thing was this guy could have survived. They came back from sort some of dungar race to his Dera. My paternal uncle lives in the same village and noticed that he was sweating more than normal. He asked him, are you okay? He replied yea I’m getting a pain here(don’t know exactly where).

My uncle was like, this isn’t normal go to hospital now. He replied, that oh no these kind of pains come and go. After an hour he drops dead. Then his brothers pick him to take him to hospital where doctors inform them he died about an hour or so ago.

Now think, if this guy wasn’t in some paindu bravado mindset and listened to advice. He was overweight. Walking to chowk from his house, 4 houses down left him breathing heavily. The signs were all there.

So to all you guys that eat parathas and think life doesn’t catch up with you, you’ll also have a rude awakening. Or should I say a sudden death?

Paindus are so fucking funny. If you tell them to stop eating eggs, they think you are jealous and will start eating more. lol

What a backwards and retarded society we have.

Sadly such stories are more common than they should be. Many such deaths are preventable.

Many thanks for sharing it.

Paindu mindset is ‘uski likhi huwi thi’…

Sadly typical, to ascribe to fate what we could have prevented, had we made the correct choices within our power to do, just so we can avoid any criticisms on our own selves.

That probably holds true for paindus and shehri folks both.

He would have gone to Bhu..there is nothing there..then to tehsil center, half of the time EKG isn't available but let's he got lucky and there was an EKG ans he has classical STEMI then what?

We don't have Cath labs there..may be local private center may have one at district level but the district head quarter hospital probably won't have one in after hours even during the day it will require lot of chai pani to get him in.

Let's say he was in city. okay now he has a chance ..provided he goes in the morning not on Sunday?!!!

Few if any centers have TNK or thrombolytics, may be available in private setup but not in most hospitals

In short rescue 1199 is just scam in essence to keep people happy..

It buys time for what? When there isn't anything at the receiving center

Now if he had sehat card which let's you step into any private center he may had a chance since govt centers have nothing working but who cares about health

Motorways are important

Pakistan is country where it makes more sense to tell people to check their HB1ac and lipid profile and look at their weight rather then teaching them ACLS

Now if young person has arrhythmia CPR will work and he will need a defib something not easily available in Pakistan...
