That's how it's done in India. EVM not just registers vote , but also prints out the symbol you pushed and drops into a sealed box.

If anyone questions EVM. we can check the score in EVM and also count the printed slip to make sure that evm works fine.

Does the voter also get a record to take with them? If so, that would be very reliable system and hard to rig.

Now that PTI is perceived to have won, any government formed by either PML-N or the PPP will be tarred as illegitimate, and not have the desired public support to raise taxes or attract investment without pushback.

PML-N is only humiliating itself if it forms a government. They would be better off waiting out the next 5 years, building up their ground game and rebuilding their image with good governance.

Time magazine in the US is indirectly saying PTI won. Now it will be too hard for them to force a government led by anyone other than PTI.

Yes, a printout of the voting slip comes out. The voter has the option of keeping it with him or discarding (to keep the vote secret).

Sure.

Somebody from the candidate with the deepest pockets or biggest danda can stand outside the exit and give rewards or danda accordingly to the voters after checking the print.

That is always a risk, but with an electronic record and a paper record inside, it would be harder to substantiate.

if the voter comes out with a print, it'll be very risky for the voters to vote freely. They'll be coerced easily. Not a practical solution.
Paper record is kept as a back up and assurance inside the machine. Voters can't take it with them.
