A flowery gown done right

Every year there are florals at the Met Gala but we rarely see it done like this. This brilliant mustard gold net gown from Fahad Hussayn’s 'Thor' collection takes elements from Western wear (like the poofy sleeves and gown aspect) and makes it rather desi. The silk thread and zardozi embroidery paired with the pants make it stand out.

A blingy blazer

Oh to see someone strutting their stuff in this bespoke piece by Faraz Manan. This outfit is a cross between quintessential desi workmanship and a boss lady power suit. We've seen a tonne of suits and blazers on the red carpet but seeing this outfit would be killer.

Love making fun of Meera's English? Zarnish Khan wants you to stop being so shallow

The British might have left us, but their language still reigns supreme in the minds of those hell-bent on bullying the actor.

Lollywood actor Meera is haunted by the greatest ghost of our colonial past — the English language and how deeply it has embedded itself in our minds as a marker of success and intelligence.

She's often the victim of trolls who make fun of her skills as an English speaker, a pastime that ultimately comes from the false perception that speaking the foreign language somehow makes you elite and more sophisticated than others and actor Zarnish Khan is not okay with this at all.

Sultan Rahi was born in a Muslim family in Utter Pradesh in India in 1938. His family migrated to Pakistan in 1947 and settled in Gujranwala after the Partition.

He remained the most popular Punjabi hero during the 1970s and 1980s, appearing in a total of more than 700 Punjabi and Urdu-language flicks, named in the Guinness Book of Records as the most prolific actor.

He began his film career in 1959 as a guest actor in the film Baghi, followed by numerous other blockbusters during his time in the industry, including Maula Jutt, Saheli, Farishta, Daku ki Larki, Watan, Mumtaz, Pehla Qadam and Bhabi. Sultan Rahi, also known as the Clint Eastwood of Hollywood starred opposite the best female stars during his time, which included the likes of Asiya, Firdous, Barbara Sharif, Durdana Rahman and Anjuman.

Rahi was murdered by some unidentified persons on the 9th of January 1996 during a highway robbery on the Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) near Gujranwala, while he was on his way back to Lahore from Islamabad. He was 58 years old.

His death, of course, was a big loss for the whole industry, especially Punjabi cinema. “I remember Sultan always saying that this industry will miss him when he’s gone but at the time, I don’t think we fully understood what he meant… but he truly proved his worth,” said senior actor Bahar Begum. “There was only one Sutlan Rahi in Lollywood and there will always be one Sultan Rahi – no one can replace him,” she added.

21 September Death anniversary of Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri.

The Sabri Brothers are the only qawwali troupe with "first class" status on the Pakistan Television Corporation. Popular film and recording artists in Pakistan, the Sabri Brothers troupe has toured Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

In 1970 the government of Pakistan sent them to Nepal as representatives for the royal wedding. They were the first exponents of qawwali to the West, when they performed at New York's Carnegie Hall in 1975. In 1975 they performed in the United States and Canada under the auspices of the Performing Arts Program of The Asia Society. In April 1978, the album Qawwali was recorded in the United States while the Sabri Brothers were on tour. The New York Times review described the album as "the aural equivalent of dancing dervishes" and the "music of feeling."

In June 1981, they performed at the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam. They played the Womad festival in the UK in 1989 – one of a series of appearances there – and released the album Ya Habib (O Beloved) on Peter Gabriel's Real World Records label the following year. In 1996, after the death of his brother Ghulam, Sabri performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music – Next Wave Festival, as part of a double-billing with alternate-rockers Cornershop, and the Voices Of God event in 1999 held at Marrakesh.

She is probably the most gorgeous actress in Pakistani drama industry right now

I admire her a lot
Eye of the beholder and all that, eh? 😀

I actually don’t know many Pakistani actresses. I don’t watch dramas and don’t know many models. So I have a limited number of models to choose from. I used to like Iman Ali for years, later I started liking Mahira Khan but then I saw her smoking a cigarette which really pushed me away from her. Like she lost that glamorous vibes for me.

Then Ayeza Khan for the last 10 years or so. She performed in Mere paas tum hi recently but I used to admire her before that.

All with good intentions bro
