My favorite old school Baba Ji on YouTube—when Mr. Warraich talks, it's as if your own grandpa is sitting in the living room, giving you life lessons.

Azaan Sami’s ballad ‘Ham Dam’ summons ‘the magic of yesteryears’

The song was released on January 6 with an official visualiser starring Sanam Saeed as a retro heroine

Steadily carving his name in Pakistan’s music scene, Azaan Sami’s latest song is marked by a profound sense of nostalgia. Released on January 6, Ham Dam’s soft melody is accompanied by an official visualiser, starring Sanam Saeed. The YouTube description prefaces the song as: “Chase the rain and enjoy the magic of yesteryears in Azaan Sami Khan's Ham Dam.”
With a straightforward arrangement of verse-chorus-verse, the track is not originally striking as it is reminiscent of the many tunes that marry lo-fi to the sound of rain. Surprisingly, this generic backdrop allows Azaan’s crisp vocals to take centre stage, melding with the tender romance of the lyrics into an endearing song.

The rhythmic backbone of the composition is carried by the unmistakable claves, striking on the downbeats in a cadence that mirrors the gentle patter of raindrops. The main hook/sample, adorned with staccato piano notes, emerges as a distinctive motif, adding a layer of intrigue and punctuating the verses with crisp and rhythmic punctuation. The sparse percussion in the verses, featuring only the main vocal track and intermittent piano notes, contributes to the minimalist aesthetic, allowing the listener to focus on the emotive core of the composition.

The pre-chorus serves as a sonic ascent, intensifying the vocals and building anticipation. A deliberate climb sets the stage for the explosive chorus where the drums go all in, accompanied by a choir of vocal harmonies and gang vocals that elevate the emotional resonance of the piece.

In this fleeting cinematic vignette, Azaan finds himself seated on a bench outside the warmly illuminated 'Roxy Cinema,' bathed in sepia hues that cast a gentle radiance upon the night. The soft drizzle, a welcome aesthetic touch, delicately graces numerous shots, including the cinema house's banner proudly displaying Sanam as the star of Ham Dam.

Sanam, stepping into the role of a classic cinema heroine, exudes glamour as she makes a grand entrance for her film's premiere, sharing meaningful glances with Azaan. In a display of affection reminiscent of a classic love story, the singer, captivated like a lovestruck protagonist, extends an umbrella to shield her from the rain.

Amidst this cinematic spectacle, an air of romance lingers, teasing the possibility of a budding connection. Has the tale of love already unfolded, or is it merely a tantalising moment suspended in time? Ham Dam keeps its secrets close.

In an unexpected turn of events, the emerging Pakistani band AUR has left fans and music enthusiasts in sheer excitement as they announced a collaboration with none other than global sensation Zayn Malik. The announcement came through a tantalizing teaser shared on AUR's Instagram on Wednesday.

Last year, AUR made a breakthrough into the Pakistani music scene with their viral hit Tu Hai Kahan. Their fresh approach to music quickly garnered them a dedicated fan base, propelling them into the spotlight. Now, the band seems set to reach new heights with the revelation of their collaboration with the former One Direction member.

The short clip shared on AUR's Instagram showcases Zayn immersed in the studio environment, seemingly lost in the creative flow that has defined his solo career. The enigmatic caption, a mere "Soon! @zaynmalik," has ignited a wildfire of anticipation among fans, who have taken to social media to share their theories and speculations about what this musical collaboration could entail.

Zayn, who himself shared AUR's post on his Instagram Stories, further fueled the excitement. The global pop sensation's endorsement of the collaboration has added an extra layer of validation to AUR's talent, solidifying their status as rising stars not only in Pakistan but on the international stage.

As fans eagerly await the release of this musical spectacle, one thing is certain – 2024 is poised to be a game-changer for AUR. The countdown has begun, and fans can hardly contain their excitement for what promises to be a groundbreaking collaboration.
