Türkiye awaits Sisi's visit


The Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, confirmed today that Turkey is looking forward to the upcoming visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Turkey.

The Turkish ambassador said during a reception on the occasion of Victory Day, “Armed Forces Day in Turkey,” that during President Sisi’s visit, many agreements will be signed, as the visit will find great interest in Turkey, Egypt and the world.

The ambassador explained that bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkey will continue to develop in the coming period. Al-Sisi's visit will strengthen "the historical ties of brotherhood" between the two countries.

Turkish media reported that Sisi will visit the Turkish capital, Ankara, on September 4.

The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, visited Egypt on August 4 and 5. To prepare for the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Last February, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Egypt and held discussions with Sisi, after a rift that lasted for years.

The head of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Council, Mustafa Denizer, told Anadolu Agency that “nearly 20 agreements in the fields of defence, energy, tourism, health, education and culture are expected to be signed between Turkey and Egypt.”

We intend to strengthen our communication and consultations with Egypt, with which we have similar positions and goals on many issues.

We agreed in our meetings today to build continuous consultations in order to resolve regional issues, especially the Gaza issue.
