Come on! To judge the capabilities of a fighter solely by its export numbers is plain stupid, by that accound the F-22 would be less capable than a F-16 and the MiG-21 more capable than a F-15.
We all know - and you surely too - that such deals are more often related to political decisions and budget restrictions than purely being based on capability.
As such to think the J-10 is bad since only Pakistan has purchased it is plain naive ... by that logic, the Tejas itself is a big failure since it has not gained any exports yet and the IAF itself has at best introduced limited numbers.

Anyway, this connection has no relevance at all to the point I raised, namely the fact that most Indian fan-boys claim stupid things in regard to the J-20, that this false image is eagerly supported by similar stupid claims from Indian leaders, while at the same time they itself did not even get the less complex and sophisticated Tejas project running since decades.

On F-22 you should know better. No one is contesting America's ability to develop combat aircraft. The F-16s, F-35s are good examples. Show me any successful Chinese combat aircraft that has been exported. They had sold a lot of J-7s in the past. You cannot expect IAF leaders to panic about unproven Chinese combat platforms. It would be easier for China to sell because their platforms are cheaper and they have fewer political restrictions. China has little trouble selling tanks, artillery guns, warships. At this point Tejas is inferior to the J-10.

Thailand does not operate J-10s or have any plans to do so.
