(17 Including Commanders Arrested)

In a significant operation of security forces and law enforcement agencies, a network of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists has been exposed in #Karachi. Intelligence agencies acted promptly, apprehending the terrorists and preventing their planned activities in the city.

The captured individuals, long sought by law enforcement for serious offenses such as target killing and extortion, were intricately organized as madrassa students under the guidance of TTP leadership in #Afghanistan.

Operating within this network from 2007 to 2014, these terrorists were responsible for numerous attacks on security forces, non-governmental organizations, and civilians in Swat/Malakand.

Among the 17 terrorists arrested in the operation were key commanders of the TTP, highlighting the scope and influence of the uncovered network.

The group's terrorist activities extended beyond the region, with involvement in sectarian, ethnic, and politically motivated target killings, as well as attacks on law enforcement agencies in Karachi.

Notably, the network funded the top TTP leadership in Afghanistan through extortion and kidnapping for ransom.

Additionally, the group harbored suicide bombers in madrassas, intending to deploy them in various terrorist activities spanning from #Afghanistan to Karachi and other parts of the country.

To counter these threats, stringent measures are being implemented to safeguard sensitive installations, high-ranking officials, and individuals associated with multinational companies from extortion activities.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain resolute in their commitment to thwart the malicious intentions of terrorists, supported wholeheartedly by the people of Pakistan.

This successful operation underscores the collaborative efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
