Turkish Foreign Policy and Geopolitics

It is interesting to know that Iran accepted Türkiye as the middle man instead of Qatar.

Its good that Turkey offered to be the middle man and conduit for the delivering of messages back and forth, it builds social capital for Turkey on both sides.

This social capital will be needed as the geopolitical dynamics continue to be in flux in the region, from the black sea to the middle east.

The War in Ukraine raised Turkey's importance/social capital in the West in some ways, as it showed Turkey's geostrategic importance, which in turn has tempered the Western response to Turkey's operations against the PKK in Syria and Iraq.

Lets see how that evolves with the alleged upcoming Turkish operations in Northern Iraq in the summer.

I share your opinion. If we act smart, we could gain a lot from this conflict, diplomatically and economically. I want to see a second 'Ukrainian approach' here.

I think the best thing to do is while they stay busy elsewhere, Turkey deals with the PKK decisively both in Iraq and Syria.

I would approach Iran to see if some sort of mutual understanding can be reached where they and their proxies don't interfere in Iraq or Syria and pull away from certain parts, when Turkey does launch operations, and in return Turkey offers Iran something they are seeking, perhaps cooperation against the Kurdish militant elements that are targeting Iran, or what Turkey offered recently where they said they would not allow Turkey to be used by the US for any anti Iran action.

Dislodging the US and French presence in the Kurdish/PKK areas of Iraq and Syria are in both Iranian and Turkish interests long term. It benefits in more than one way, as what it does is it forces the US to go through the Northern FSA/SNA and Turkey for its Syria policy, rather than the PKK. It gives Turkey more control of the axioms of control in the region, and more leverage.

Thank you, Armenia, I guess, lol.

Pashinyan is aggravating Russia in every single international conflict. That's not going to end well for them.
