"We received the news of the death of Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army Mohamed Al-Haddad and those accompanying him with profound sorrow and grief.Lieutenant General Al-Fayturi Gharib, Commander of the Ground Forces, Brigadier General Mahmoud Al-Qatiwi, Director of Military Production, Mohamed Al-Asawi Diab, Advisor to the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, and Mohamed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub, Photographer of the Chief of the General Staff's Media Office, lost their lives in a tragic accident on their way back from an official visit to Ankara, the capital of Türkiye..
This tragic loss is a great loss for our country, our army, and all our people, because we have lost individuals who served their country with loyalty and dedication, and who were exemplars of discipline, responsibility, and national commitment.
We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt feelings to the families of those’ll we have lost and to their comrades-in-arms in the armed forces. We pray to the Almighty God to envelop them in His mercy, to grant them a place in His paradise, and to bestow patience and solace upon their families and loved ones."
