@OP

Firstly, such videos should be condemned, torture in all its forms is an abhorrent practice and should have no place in a modern world, but to answer your original question based on the title of your thread; as to why similar treatment was not meted out to Abhinandan there are several reasons for this, and without sounding like an apologist robot to some here, those are as follows:

1. Despite what some here may believe or say, Pakistan Army for the large part is a disciplined force, Pakistan Army is duty bound to treat all POWs with due care and avoid any act which may be construed as degrading or inhumane treatment which includes torture, this is set out in the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

2. Torture is never conducive to obtaining information and the large majority of times any confessions obtained under such duress are not only a gross miscarriage of justice but also can be false or misleading, as we witnessed with the interrogation of the Afghan would be suicide bomber from Melody Park, Islamabad.

3. Judging by the uniform camouflage pattern of the men, these troops appear to belong to the Indian Central Reserve Police Force, you will note that the CRPF lost a number of men during the incident in Pulwama and most recently during an ambush in Rajouri where 4 Indian Army personnel were killed. I would imagine such treatement deplorable as it is would seem just to Indian security men given they feel they have lost comdrades at the hands of Kashmir men? Again I am NOT being an apologise but only wishing to state facts here.

In the interests of being fair, are we any different, have we forgotten how we treated arrested terror suspects and sympathizers in SWAT during the operation there? Those famous words "Haan ya Baan?"

Do the ends justify the means?

Finally let me just say that whatever happens, it is always painful to watch such content regardless who the person on the reciving end may be.

funniest part is most muhib e wattan pakitanies on social media think just one catching abhinandan made them wipe of shame of loss of bangladesh or surrender in tashkent in 1965 ;) :P

and what will they achive from torture of a IAF Pilot ..... he was send as a bait by IAF to know response timmings and actual locations of PAF assets which IAF now knows and after that episode IAF changed entire arsenell of its russian origin BVRs and WVR missiles on main assets like upgraded Mirage2000 and Mig29s and Su30MKIs while those on rafale and LCA are just underprocess on familarisation ... but can the same be said about PAF

Tactically speaking IAF then again send a stray bhramos into pakistan and named it an accident to know prepairdenss and response timmings which was a partial sucess ..... so my sugesstion to these overzelous members is think like your playing on a chessboard not LODU ;) :P

Disgraceful, what are they being held for? You can't do this under any law.

@Ghazi can the term 'duffers' not being used please.

Because Indian army would have this to 10 kashmiri terrorists in return.

Please remain factual when commenting here about Pakistan Army. The case you refer to was not a "General" but that of Lt. Col. (Rtd) Habib Zahir who attended Nepal on business meeting with what is assumed to be a fake man by the name Mark.

Thanks.

Ah my bad. Thanks for correcting me.

That is okay my friend, just want to make sure people don't get the wrong idea that is all.
Was that sarcasm towards me? How will people get wrong idea if I made an honest mistake in writing somebody's designation? The case is years old anyways. Also, what people?
