Yes,but still used. Back in 2020-2023 turkish media(and some people here)would keep mentioning how Greece bought used Rafale from France,even though it was only about half of the first 18 that were slightly used,belonging to the French Air Force and from a unit stationed in France,if I remember correctly(I read that at the Flight actual magazine).

I kept telling people here that they were slightly used,but they just ignored it.

ok guys, if its not eurofighter or Turkish air force related, please don't post, thread has already been derailed enough. If you want we can create a Miscellaneous Discussion thread where you guys can tag each other and discuss and debate/argue whatever you want, but please lets keep this one on topic.
 
First and foremost, we need access to software for domestically produced munitions integration and, in particular, drone control; otherwise, we'll be doing a poor job.

I think they'll serve as a testbed for learning how to operate the Kaan on the ground and understanding how it can be used in the air with drones. We've never had a twin-engine, high-performance air superiority aircraft with an AESA radar. We can try those concepts here. And if we could acquire the Captor E MK2 radar, it would be a good benchmark for our Murad 600a AESA radar.

I don't see any other strategic gain. I especially don't think they'll provide deterrence and protection. If they worked, Qatar wouldn't have been bombed in the first place!

From now on, until Kaan arrives, deterrence and protection will be provided by our domestically produced, AWS systems, domestic ballistic/cruise missiles, and domestic drones. Not foreign aircraft like the EF.

So it's long term purchase In Others words Typhoon will remain front line fighter for decades as will the intended new Falcons

I always said Friday Fifth generation fighters are important but unmanned drones and fourth generation fighters will remain relevant for decades yet
 

Turkey signs deal to buy 20 Eurofighters from Britain for 8 bln pounds​


ANKARA, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Turkey agreed to buy 20 new Eurofighter Typhoons from Britain for 8 billion pounds ($10.7 billion) on Monday, deepening the NATO allies' ties and bolstering Turkish air defences, as Ankara said it was also seeking 24 more jets from Gulf states.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, on his first visit to Turkey since taking office last year, signed the deal with President Tayyip Erdogan and called it a "landmark moment". Erdogan said joint defence industry projects could follow.

The deal, which some analysts called expensive, comes as Turkey seeks to leverage the advanced warplanes to make up ground with regional rivals such as Israel, which has unleashed strikes across the Middle East this year. Europe meanwhile has increasingly turned to Turkey, NATO's second-largest military and a major exporter of armed drones, to reinforce its eastern flank and potentially backstop any future post-war stabilisation force in Ukraine.

Separately, the defence ministry said Turkey plans to buy 12 more Typhoons each from Oman and Qatar. Last week, citing a person familiar with the matter, Reuters reported that Turkey was nearing a deal in which it would promptly receive 12 Typhoons, albeit lightly used, from Oman and Qatar to meet its immediate needs, with more new jets coming from Britain in future years. London said Ankara would receive the first of the batch of 20 Typhoons in 2030. Starmer said the deal, for which talks began in 2023, included an option to buy more.

Istanbul-based security and defence analyst Burak Yildirim called the 8-billion-pound price tag "outrageously high" and "unprecedented", even if it includes options, ammunition, spare parts and training.
"They're selling planes at frigate prices," Yildirim said. "This agreement is outright fraud. You can't have a combat jet for 400 million pounds; they’re selling one plane for the price of four."
The sides did not give details on what, beyond the planes, was included in the deal.

Eurofighters will help us to protect our national security and interests in Syria , Libya , Azerbaijan and in the Eastern Mediterranean

1 -- Even Iran gets 48 SU-35s .. maybe also J-10Cs from China
2 -- We should never ignore Russia.
3 -- Greece started behaving very recklessly after purchasing the RAFALE Jets
4 -- On the other side , France appears as a rival in Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean

5 -- total of 44 Eurofighters are the best option to replace the old F-4s

6 -- We also have the option to purchase more Eurofighters from the UK in case of a possible American embargo.

7 -- This purchase reduces the risk of Turkiye making political concessions to the USA
We are getting rid of the USA monopoly over the Turkish Air Force


The 24 Eurofighters we will procure in 2026-2027 will ensure balance in the region ... also 20 Eurofighter T4s in 2030 ..( its a huge strategic gain )

I think you are delusional on EF's You can trust that those EFs will only be effective as a deterrent against Iran and Russia. And you can completely forget about them against Greece, the Greek Cypriots, or Syria, or Israel. Anyone who argues otherwise is either mentally undeveloped or paid trolls!!

EFs are mainly useful for developing concepts for Kaan and training pilots, nothing beyond that. More importantly, without access to their software, they provide no real advantages in controlling the KE and Anka-3 drones under the MUM-T concept.

I hope we will access to their software.
