You underplay and Ignore Israel's increase in military capabilities are far more than you should, and that threat is more real than any perceived threat from Iran(which is not a military threat to Turkiye at all...), or Egypt.... Greece and Israel are the threats to Turkiye, not Egypt or Iran.

The typhoon Jet its self is around £90million?

£400 million per jet is a package. This Includes training. Weapons, parts, upgrades, problems fixing etc. but still the £400 million figures is bonkers per jet.
 
Turkey is hamstrung to nato. Ankara best fighter choice should have been for the Chinese JC-10.
 
And I thought Rafales were expensive !! 8 Billion Pounds for 20 Jets !!

So the purchase of Eurofighter deal shows KAAN won't be ready any time soon nor will it be on par with the American F-35s or the Chinese J-35s?

Why didn't Turkiye acquire more F-16s rather than purchase Eurofighters if this is some sort of a stop gap measure?

Customers have been waiting 5-6 years for V F-16s. This way Turks get Eurofighters in 5-6 months

It is not certain that the USA will provide F-110 engines to Türkiye to produce KAAN

And KAAN squadrons will be ready with domestic engine in 2032-2035 period

24 Eurofighters will be delivered in 2026-2027, ensuring the preservation of the balance of power in the region

American Congress is slave to Israel and Zionist Lobby as like White House and PENTAGON

They have been stalling Turkiye for years and wants endless political concessions.


Turkiye should stop buying F-16V and should buy more Eurofighters

This purchase reduces the risk of Turkiye making political concessions to the USA
and We are getting rid of the USA monopoly over the Turkish Air Force

Qatar : American F-15 , French Rafale and European Eurofighter
Greece : American F-16 and French Rafale
Egypt : American F-16 , Russian MIG-29M2 and French Rafale

even Iran wants to get SU-35s from Russia and J-10Cs from China

on the other hand , Turkish Air Force is fully dependent on USA
God willing , Turkish Air Force will gain independent in 2030s with indigenous KAAN , HURJET , KIZILELMA , ANKA-3/4 manned and unmanned Fighter Jets

Is Turkiye still pursuing the F-35 deal ? I thought things were moving in that direction after the meeting with Trump.

It is quite a baffling move. It is hard to see why this money is not being put into Kaan. There is no imminent threat of any of Russia, Israel or Greece attacking Turkiye.

If Turkey wants to pay protection money to the EU, it should look to France and Germany. If Turkey wants to pay protection money to the US, it look to the US. No sense in looking to the UK, what protection does the UK offer Turkey?

It is more like the fighter jets Turkey is buying to deal with the threat Israel.

To be honest, if Turkey wants to get a high-thrust engine, it can only go through Russia. The US is an ally of Israel, China does not trust Turkey Europe has no High-thrust engine.

Turkiye : We want to buy PATRIOT
USA : NO

Turkiye : ok we will buy HQ-9 from China
USA : ohh no , cancel deal with China , we will give PATRIOT

Turkiye : ok we canceled deal with China , give us PATRIOT
USA : NO

Turkiye : then we buy S400 from Russia
USA : ohh no cancel deal with Russia

Turkiye : Shut Up
USA : ohhh Turkiye is bad ally , Turkiye is enemy .. I give you CAATSA
