Most of this stuff is unfortunately vapourware from what we can see. It is all geared toward "foreign sales" for revenue generation possibilities, or pet projects for some generals career development plans. There is no real mass manufacturing of most of what we see for the Pakistan Armed forces, I don't think that is the intent for a lot of what we see.

Would love to be proved wrong of course.

I would agree on it being positioned for exports rather than domestic induction. Pet project theory doesn't cut it as the specs are sound and we do need it, especially in FATA and Balochistan.

I think they are going for Loitering munitions production capacity against India instead.

they hit because we have no integrated air defenses , they don't have better drones than us remember the videos of villager shooting them down with old rifles , we could have easily overloaded their ad systems if we had enough Shahed like drones like Iran does but we don't have the industry to make them .




i still think its not a bad idea to kidnap some Iranians and ask them to make us their cheap missiles and drones .

I mean we must have it, they are making the pictures after all


As much as I like TB2 and wing long etc

We should only buy high end drones like akcini etc

We need to be able to produce our drone requirements at home and ensure we can mass produce FPV drones etc

By the way in our recent clashes with TTP and afghan talibans, I was hoping to see extensive use of drones like sarfarosh as they seem very capable for such targets that we destroyed in Afghanistan. It also came into existence some time ago. We should have some to throw at afghanistan. I don't know why we didn't use it in Afghanistan ?

i bet you wont see it, that too for a while.

the reason is simple, the 140hp engine just doesnt cut it.

it didnt cut it for the S2, hence they made an S2 plus or something.

They swapped the 140 out for a 170hp TEI diesel lump. The issue is, i wonder whether that even cuts it...

It gained a few kg, with an mtow of 1600kg vs 1100 of the S2, it will struggle hard without a proper engine. I bet this holdup is the issue here. I know TEI is working on a 220hp version of their PD170, that would be pretty good here.

If they are releasing graphics depicting S3 carrying two Eghraaq torpedoes (2-300kg each), 140 powerplants are definitely not the way to go. 170 may scratch it but it would be pushing it considering Torpedoes won't be the only thing it will have to carry for Anti sub machines. So I agree with your thesis that engine is the current bottleneck in mass productions

It's also interesting to see S3 "naval", having a slightly different main fuselage design.

i think alot of it just comes from the fact that the shahpar 3 promotion was a bit premature, hence all these changes we see now like that fatass intake, they'll need a far higher performance engine really, this thing is gonna be a fat boy
