Remember Gen Bakshi screaming "abi mangwao F35s" and then the RN F35 stranded in India for months? And now Trump rubbing it in the "7 brand new beautiful planes"

Given that US is largest supplier of arms, and Trump putting America first, they just pounced on the opportunity to make some money while keeping India relevant in the region. I don't think India wants F35s or even if they do, US would want to supply them. I think US will however share tech and help India develop their AMCA (given that AMCA target operational date is in 10 years which is same as their defense pact with US)

I think US arming India directly with US systems won't happen but they'll share tech and expertise with them to develop their indigenous equipment because it provides a way for US to test their tech against that of China's without exposing US tech to market embarrassment as in the case of Rafales.

Their defense pact is more or less similar to our All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China. In any case, our Eastern border being the match ground is self-evident from this. So I won't be surprised if we witness multiple high-intensity localized conflicts in the near future (2030s). Although, there's a slightly less but still a probability of these match grounds being extended to India's northern and western borders as well.

Again, th fallacy you're committing is comparing state owned dedicated defense enterprises with privately owned business conglomerate. Tata Birla is not "just" a defense contractor, it did not even begin as a defense contractor. Except for China, most of the defense innovation enterprises around the globe are privately owned. State owned enterprises usually don't become highly successful because they are usually not envisioned purely from a cut throat capitalist and market capture model. Even China's state owned enterprises only begun being successful once the liberalized (not to be confused with Liberalism political ideology) the markets.

Secondly, why mention IT enterprises when we are talking about Defense innovation? Comparing apples and oranges is a strawman fallacy.

The "Bill Gates" and "Elon Musks" - again - civilians and not statesmen. You can argue that Musharraf's policies failed simply because we don't see any economic progress in the country - and I can agree to that in part because even that argument has its nuances and not as simplistic - however, that same argument applies to IK and other governments as well. So, they all failed collectively 🥲

BTW you still haven't mentioned any factual reality, policy, or framework to support the argument that IK understood what others failed to but it's ok now - you don't have to because this discussion doesn't fit this thread - if you want you can tag me in a relevant thread and present those facts that can help me understand why IK was better than any other prior to him.
You are talking about defense contractors ..I am talking about the broader theme of creating globally competitive companies doesn’t matter if they are defense or it or biotech

It's a defence related thread - specifically in relation to Pakistan/India. I already understood the argument you are making it's why since my very first response I have maintained "contextual isolation"

If it helps, I don't largely disagree with the "bigger picture" argument you're making - however, that has its own nuances and suitable to be discussed in perhaps socio-political/politico-economic threads?

i have not seen much news or statements from china regarding the current situation in the region, with all these threats from indian miliary and BJP leadership.
I have a feeling the next time shit hits the fan, will lead to massive losses and damages to the side that sits on restraints.
Americans/israelis are already arming the indian military bigtime.......who knows whats being supplied in the big C-jets. They're probably itching to try and test those weaponry on Pak.
I hope the Pakistani side is not sleeping on all this re-armaments ongoing.
The silence is a little concerning to me now. Haven't seen our side having big planes land.....

Here..., a smaller picture - for your Avatar.

Rest assured, it will be 10000× worst than the Iraqi resistance. indians know which is why they are behaving like good boys even though they are 7× bigger than Pakistan.
not sure...i would like to believe you and would have wholeheartedly 3 years go but currently i am not sure given how our army leaders have behaved to a hugely popular leader

Does your establishment understand benefits. Look what benefits Pakistan got by installing the Taliban in Afghanistan.
It is well-known that Pak used Taliban to secure Pak's own borders from foreign powers. That including kick the Indian ass too. After the foreign forces left Afghanistan, Afghan Taliban, however, could not get rid of beggar's mentality. Now Indians are offering them money and these Afghani dogs are willing to do the dirty job for India. Don't worry, India should send it personnel to Afghanistan to help the Afghani dogs. Pak will eliminate these dogs along with their guest slumd0gs and send them to the hellhole.
I normally don't kick the shit but ah this is one off just as an exception.

InshaAllah depends on your ISP Nayatel now has full service. Are you on fibre or 4g broadband?
FTTH by Stormfiber and PTCL in karachi......both are acting shit since a month. Slow browsing and download speeds limited to 11mbps

we'll never get any investments simply cuz of this. internet goes down or slows as a turtle so nothing can be done. this is our biggest issue, they have control and shutdown our internet and mobiles whenever they feel a threat.

dushman ko sabaq nahi sikhatay properly bas apne loagon ke net aur mobile band kerne ke expert hain saray
what a sad state of affairs......kaisay hogi taraqqi when everything shuts down yet nothing happens to the enemy

@hnn

However, we are on the "brink" of war, and has been since April - "brink" being one lame move from either side and it's war.

That one lame move will be a Pak sponsored terror attack in Kashmir. Else, no chance of any skirmish let alone a war.

Regards
Don't talk like an idiot.
Everyone knows Pakistan has no hand in such events and have no benefit in it either. Just Indian inside job as always to escalate things, make hindutva ideology Indians happy then escalation and war against Pakistan.

That is one hell of a pat on one own's back.

That just proves the point I was making that your establishment has no idea what it is doing and what the consequences will be.

We don't do such stupidity. We leave such things to you.
