If you are from Karachi and you still think you can achieve anything by just dialogue then you are fooling yourself. You are debating with three types of humans species:

- The ones who genuinely think that if Karachi flourished, then lahores economy will suffer. This means, no matter how right you are, aap ki nahi chalaygi. Just don't raise your voice. They are born and raised in Karachi but whenever they start speaking they start like : I being Lahori...
- The ones who think destroying Karachi is their right, the people of Karachi or not even humans. If they are not allowed to destroy and loot Karachi then Sindhu-desh.
- The ones who are actually parasites and actively benefit from the illnesses of Karachi. They are not happy that govt of Pakistan is sending them back to their country and now who will run the corruption empire of Karachi.

The dilemma of Karachi walas is, when I discussed these things with my Urdu speaker friend he stopped talking to me after saying that I am a racist. Inna lillahi wa Inna ilyhi rajioon.

Then repeated NS, Zardari, with GHQ musical chair game,.army happy in their DHA islands, so let Sindhi PPP to rob Karachi and take control of the city organizations under Sindh govt and Punjabi/army/bureaucracy transferred Karachi offices to Islamabad.

The City is almost dead as a livable city.

Ah yes - the famous Banker who built Empress Market, Frere Hall, the Port, Massive hangars, airfields - etc etc.
Prior to that Karachi was 4 huts and fishermen in Lungis.

I know this because I stopped banking with such banks.

Karachi, karachi, karachi ? I live in karachi and I find life here 1000 times better than interior. Karachi people are ungrateful. You pay taxes ?? Do you even know there is no more majority group anymore we all pay taxes here.
All good hospitals, education institutions all basic necessity are here.

Also, Karachi is not as bad as rest of sindh and rest of pakistan only lahore has some perks over it.

As a Muhajir, born and raised in Karachi, I am glad to see a Sindhi brother's perspective. Indeed, the Muhajirs, despite being probably THE most educated, enlightened community of Pakistan with higher standard of living than most Pakistanis, never stop complaining. Having said that: Karachi's prosperity comes from the highly educated, disciplined Muhajirs who came around the Partition of 1947. A fertile soil was found and it was well harvested.

No Pakistani leadership, even General Zia who I despise, ever wanted to destroy a major city of Pakistan intentionally. Karachi's woes are because of over population, because of the Afghan culture brought in the 80s and also because of misgovernance.

A failed Sindh govt? I think that is exaggerated. I didn't know where to post this video but this sort of ties into this thread. Also, per my own travelogue from a recent trip to Pakistan, I found Pakistan to have significantly advanced.

HBL building was the tallest building in Asia until 1965!

HBL had around 900 branches (both local and international) by '71 (number which even today's bank cannot begin to fathom!)

banks had everything to do with Karachi!


People in export departt have told me stories how exporters clear there shipment!

The modern history of Karachi starts from Parsi community and Hindu community in British era. This was the beginning of modern financial and defense hub. After partition Indian migrants and parsis took control of this city. But then every one sitting in power of Pakistan said: yar yeh log mantay nahi Hain, and tried to break the soul of this city.
Finally Sindhis are trying to take control of this city.
It's funny actually. Had they connected their gutters with this top gutter, we would have not ended-up like this. I don't know what will they achieve by doing it. May be they will start building world class facilities in rest of the Sindh after full control ( which they already have) on Karachi?!
Anyway, it's full loot and full destruction mode for Karachi. The revenge is all yours... Happy burning and destruction...
