Your entitled to yours as I am to mine bro, but there’s no mistaking that Egypt will be pushing for Chinese tech which would better them even more, this whole diversify your arsenal standpoint can only go so far until it starts to go against you. I was on board with that idea when I was younger but now it’s high tide we prioritize the fundamentals, not that we haven’t started that already. Just because the f15EX is a beast of its own doesn’t mean it’ll win you conflicts. Just look at Qatari f15EX’s and how ineffective they were when it came to “tracking” Israeli stealth crafts and missiles. High tech, no situational awareness. That was also more so because of the SAM and early warning systems were not only few in numbers, but are manned by AMERICAN PERSONNEL. They intentionally let Israel get away with that monstrosity of an incident with no repercussions. I never trusted Qatar politically, but even then Americas closest allies are not immune to Israel’s coddled policy. That shows you American recourses aren’t really worth the buck you pay for anymore since even though all equipment is to be manned by Egyptian personnel upon delivery and training/deployment, you still have potential deception, espionage, and transfer of data to, well…you know. It’s partially why European countries are diverting military procurements elsewhere, like with the f35s for example and the kill switch policy.
Isn’t that why we diversified our war chest, to get away from American entanglements due to QME? That’s why we now moved towards k2 black panther mbts and k9 thunder artillery pieces instead of Abrams and paladins? The only good American equipment Egypt can really buy now are just supply and logistics to help maintain repair, supply, transport and readiness of our forces. C-130s are one of the best examples actually. I don’t mind implementing upgrades to EXISTING equipment we already own, like 555 Abrams upgrade package, I’m all for those for example, but to purchase more new equipment that out-do’s our diversifying of equipment advantage? Even if other nations get better models??? Nah, not a chance respectfully.
You get a whole new system that despite takes time to train and master, will be beneficial for eaf. Kj 500 is superior to our E2 Cs even though they’re proven platforms. The aesa radar is the selling point of the vehicle and can track more targets than the older pesa radars of the e2’s. And the even better kj 700 will be available in the future. Y 20s will basically be the globe masters of the EAF. It’s worth it because our preexisting anti air system is too hot for even Israeli aircraft to snoop into, which keeps them at bay. America isn’t selling high tech assets Like that to us for obvious reasons.
J10 has superior speed and surface ceiling, and vastly superior range to existing f16s in service, pair those stats with pl-15s and you wonder why India lost their rafales despite being world class fighters. A lot of it was because of Indian negligence and ignorance, and importance of situational warfare. That’s why Egyptian crafts went to Pakistan around the same time when news of acquiring j10s was making headlines, it was to gather as much helpful intel to maximize the advantages of the new system.
Really with the extended range you get with j10s makes the new f15s negligible at best. Especially since Chinas working on an upgrade package known as the j10 D for future services. Sooner or later IDF will get the aim 260, then what? We’re left with amraams that are already outranged and outgunned. Right back to square one. And that’s all assuming we even get airborne AMRAAMs since the ones with the nasams deal will be specifically used for surface to air defense.
I’m super passionate about this, and it really helps thinking all of these points through and through
