It is abundantly clear from India's televised and public courting and defence of the Talib regime, as well as upgrading of ties and the donation of hardware to them, that a relationship exists between Afg Talibs and India. Why deny this now when your media has been proudly parroting this fact?

IMHO, the reason is simple. If Modi blames Pakistan, it has to be followed up by some sort of action (token or otherwise). Else, he will be blatantly called out by the citizens for all the chest thumpings done by many since May.

OTOH, junior Sharif doesn't have any such mandates to fulfil. So he and his paltan is fully free to fool the awam.

No politicians, whether here or there, are capable of doing introspection and root cause analysis, nor the awam. So, bravado, here we go.
