Imran Khan was under arrest on May 9 2023 by the paramilitary forces of Pakistan. How come Imran Khan managed to call public protests while still being in custody of the military establishment? And why should he "apologize" for something his followers did in the absence of his leadership?

Sorry to say this but one of the issues is that PTI has turned its supporters into a cult (no different than BJP in India). One of the clear signs of a cult is that the supporters are incapable of countenancing any critique of their cult leaders.

Well, you’re not really criticizing Imran Khan’s politics but rather his own ex—wife being Mossad agent or his ex-wife being a MI6 agent or his current wife being a Harry Potter agent.
How is such Bughaz-based criticism any different from a cult-like hate for someone else?

Anyway, as @mythbuster said above: If Imran's political party is going to sue The Economist then we will see the whole iceberg instead of just the tip of the iceberg. Pakistan was already rife with rumors about the occult practices of Imran's wife and of her hold over Imran.

First, I am not the one criticizing but even if I were, I am highlighting to you the fallacy of this instant knee-jerk response to any critique being labeled as "establishment" propaganda. It is no different than the unfounded Goldsmith-Zionist charges against IK.

I don't have any ill-will towards IK as such I don't have any "bughz" towards him. My issue is the anti-state narrative of some in his base. Just because their party is not ruling, their antics have been reduced to "burn it all down" mentality which is detrimental to Pakistan's well-being.

Imran's polticial sins are meant to be in air quotes. he is a victim as well as a willing participant of what has come to pass.
I recall the time when he told his supporters to be quiet as he wont listen to them when they were on his gate protesting against sidelining some prominent figures in favor of electables.

I don't have any ill-will towards IK as such I don't have any "bughz" towards him. My issue is the anti-state narrative of some in his base. Just because their party is not ruling, their antics have been reduced to "burn it all down" mentality which is detrimental to Pakistan's well-being.

But why should we not take a clear stand against someone who:
- Called for Pakistanis to stop sending remittance to Pakistan
- Asked them to not pay utility bills
- Attempted to block IMF loans when Pakistan was facing a fiscal default
- Never even groomed a viable protege despite the so-called decades old struggle
- Worked with top Generals to prolong his rule
- Making excuses for the terrorists for a quarter century
- Refused to attend some NSC meeting even during the Pakistan-India 2019 tensions
- Caused big losses to Pakistan's image/economy but dozens of protests since 2014


And I won't bring up other charges against him for which I have no credible proof and/or I don't particularly care of those because I believe other political parties / leaders too have a tainted past on those. But in case of Imran, we, or at least I, expected a radical departure from the past. But instead we got someone even worse!

What’s an anti-state "narrative"? Just because someone is anti military establishment — it doesn’t make them "anti-state".

Just because their party is not ruling, their antics have been reduced to "burn it all down" mentality which is detrimental to Pakistan's well-being.

Actually, there isn’t even any need for IK / PTI to "burn" anything down. The current military establishment and its unelected lot in parliament is doing this quite well on their own…
