The Excise and Taxation Department of Balochistan has intensified its anti-narcotics operations, destroying more than 2,054 acres of illegally cultivated cannabis under the province-wide cannabis elimination drive.


According to official sources, the latest phase of the operation targeted the Gulistan Karez and Sagai areas of District Qila Abdullah, where enforcement teams — assisted by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) — cleared 310 acres of drug crops within two days. Using drones, satellite mapping, and heavy machinery, authorities identified and eradicated cannabis fields hidden in the rugged terrain.

A departmental spokesperson said that 270 acres were manually destroyed, while another 40 acres of crops withered due to water scarcity. Twenty-one cases have been registered so far, including two new ones following the recent operations.

Officials said the campaign is part of a broader national strategy to curb drug cultivation and trafficking. The department reaffirmed its commitment to a “zero-tolerance policy” against narcotics and pledged continued coordination with the ANF, local administration, and law enforcement agencies.

“The mission is clear — to rid Balochistan of illegal drug cultivation and safeguard future generations,” an official said.

I disagree with this. Countries around the world are importing cannabis. We should help these people grow the sort of cannabis there is demand for, as well as Hemp and other cannabis based products like CBD oil etc. Make an industry of it and help poor people get rich. Balochistan has a lot of potential for Safron too, but nothing has ever happened about it but talk. In recent years the only agricultural related new industry setup in Pakistan has been olives and olive oil in PTI's time.

Govts need to focus on this, we need rich farmers, we need educated farmers who are exporting things abroad.

Security forces killed four terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in the Kalat district of Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation, conducted on the night of November 1, targeted members of Fitna al Hindustan, a group described as an Indian proxy.

Troops reportedly engaged the terrorists' hideout, resulting in four deaths. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site.

The ISPR said the terrorists had been involved in “numerous terrorist activities” and that follow-up sanitisation operations are underway in the area.

Kalat sits in central Balochistan along the mountainous belt south of Quetta, intersecting key regional routes including the N-25 highway that links the provincial capital with Karachi and Gwadar. The town lies about 140–160 kilometres south of Quetta by road and occupies an elevated position (approximately 2,000 metres above sea level).

The district’s terrain is mountainous and semi‑arid, with narrow valleys and plateaux that limit road access and make rapid ground movement difficult.The rugged terrain has long complicated security operations and enabled insurgent groups to maintain movement corridors in the area.

Arid Agri University, Rwp is conducting testing on growing Cannabis in Gilgit region. Local variety is not suitable for export.
 
Suggestion: Narcotics should not be merged into the terrorism thread as it is not always connected to terrorism, which is a big subject on its own. Should create a separate thread, combining narcotics news from the whole country.

Of course they did, and then they complain why state is against the "Baloch" people and rest of Pakistani's hate when they give shelter to BLA/BRA.

A lot of its to do with the iran-israel conflict

In the aftermath, Iran realised it had a internal security problem and has really stamped down

Relations with Pakistan have also been more positive

Combine that with more and more IBOs and both the BLA and TTP have been hit very hard
