The biggest take and evolution of the drone warefare from the Ukraine war is the fact that vast majority of the kamikaze drone (mostly fpv) attacks carried out by both sides have largely failed due to the intense jamming that is in place by both the sides.
So now majority of the attacks are carried out by wire guided fpv drones mostly n in other cases by swarm attacks.

After the changes introduced through the 27th Constitutional Amendment under which the CJCSC will retire on November 27, the COAS will be elevated as the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), and a new position of Commander, National Strategic Command (CNSC), will be introduced (likely a four star General).

The question arises:

Who is expected to become the first CNSC?

My guess is that the Field Marshal may elevate Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza, who is currently serving as the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) at GHQ, Rawalpindi.

Gen Yusuf or Amer Raza
Gen Asim Malik might become VCoAS (though this appointment hasn't been used in some time, the change to PAA 176c points in the direction that this appointment might be back in play in a year or so) - it was a 4-star appointment traditionally. They might change VCGS to 3-star. Currently VCGS AND DCGS both are 2-stat appointments.

On the topic of Pakistan's defensive posture given the ongoings in the neighborhood, I feel Pakistan needs to fast-track indigenous development of cheap, effective drones. The armed forces need not a few thousand, but tens of thousands of drones, potentially in the hundreds of thousands and we should tap into our relations with both Ukraine and Turkey to acquire systems that are battle-tested by the former to ensure we are inducting and manufacturing systems that are proven. Ukrainians have been getting a lot of very solid western tech to aid their UAV development and to drive down costs and Pakistan should try to benefit from it.

What is really instructive is to watch the way these drones are being used to entirely defeat armor, artillery and infantry on the ground in Ukraine. The survival of these assets is suddenly highly suspect given what these drones can accomplish. Pakistan has to ensure that it takes these lessons to heart and fast-track development and scale.
