An Indian Tejas fighter jet crashed during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show

Different video of the crash. The plane was flying at a good heights but does a big nose dive before the crash, not sure if that's normal, or else it would have easily finished the manoeuvre.

nah! the more that I see it the more I think it's pilot error...may be an ill timed compressor stall is a contributing factor since I heard a single pop. I think the knife edge (one wing pointing to the ground) maneuver was longer than the pilot intended. He lost lift and more altitude than he intended to lose and then it all went to hell in a hand basket when he rolled inverted and realized he had no altitude. May be an ill timed compressor stall resulted in loss of thrust, distracted the pilot and he held the knife edge too long. A compressor stall is not an engine problem it is an air flow problem and the inlet is responsible for directing the right amount of air to the engine. I remember Tejas struggled with its intake during its early years with the Mark I prototype and a redesign was required because the engine wasn't receiving enough air.Their solution was an auxiliary intake, a band aid and not an ideal solution.

I don’t know how he came to the conclusion that the U.S. is leading. The F-16's radar is a generation behind. The F-16's AIM-120D has a range of 160 km, while the PL-15E can achieve a maximum kill at 180 km. Looking at combat records, the F-16's opponents were MiG-21/23/25, J-7, Mirage F-1, and Su-22. The opponents of the J-10C and JF-17 are Rafale, Su-30, and MiG-29, and Pakistan has set the record for the longest air-to-air kill. U.S. weapons have no combat records against opponents of comparable size. When U.S. offensive weapons face smaller countries with technological gaps, the combat record naturally looks good. Pakistan eliminated terrorist leaders in the Afghan capital during counterterrorism operations, proving that U.S. combat achievements have been overestimated.

A very simple logic.

As is well known, the current unit price of JF-17b3 is approximately 70 million US dollars.

Because developed countries are rapidly replacing F-16 with F-35, there are now a large number of F-16 replacements available on the market.

The price of a second-hand F-16A/B is usually a free gift or not exceeding $20 million.

The price of second-hand F-16C/D b25/30/32 is usually $40 million (referring to the large number of F-16C/D acquired by Romania).

The price of a second-hand F-16C/D b50/52 is usually between 60 million to 80 million US dollars.

There are many second-hand F-16s on the market now, and they are not out of stock. Moreover, F-16s also comply with NATO system standards. If the performance of F-16 exceeds that of JF-17b3, then JF-17b3 should not have any orders.

So we can easily infer that the performance of F-16C/D b50/52 is slightly better than that of JF-17b3. And JF-17b3 better than F-16 C/D b25/30/32.

The person .. whoever that is.... who wrote and sang that song, is talent-less.

More suited to selling vegetables from a donkey cart.

I am not saying what he did was wrong or right... he exercised his right to free speech. I'm just saying the guy's song was not at the same level as the Taliban "haramkhor" song.

It seems that way. The pilot might have pushed the design to it's limit. The drag while performing a Knife's Edge is considerably high and the Delta Wing would only increase that further. It was a low altitude maneuver, which for a Delta Wing is already a considerable risk to begin with, and then on top it was a Knife's Edge into a roll. I'm not an expert but my guess is that it might be major design miscalculation coupled with pilot error (as Tejas is still being refined) - the Military Thrust-to-Weight ratio is low on these, without Afterburners at the low altitude the maneuver is extremely risky, whether the pilot used the Afterburners or not is not evident from the videos available - the other possible issue could be that the FBW system needs more refinement.

I'm assuming this was what all Indians were expecting:

Off-topic: Low level inverted run? That is not only stupid but incredibly pointless, I guess he wanted to "touch grass"

Call sign check kero, Patty and Minnie 😂

In any case, Ms. Palki Sharma could not undo what had been done...

Why is India obsessed with lambasting Pakistan - she mentioned Pakistan and Pakistani more times than she mentioned Tejas.

Priority check...
