The Threat of Mike Huckabee

This past week, Christian Zionist and former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee, had a personal meeting with Jonathan Pollard in Israel. The meeting was apparently warm and largely private. It was also the actions of a man showing the world that his allegiance is not to the United States that sent him to his post, but to Israel, his diplomatic host.

For those unaware, Pollard was not an ordinary spy. He was a US Navy Intelligence Officer with information on highly advanced naval weaponry. His acts of espionage on behalf of Israel occurred during the early part of the 1980s, when the Cold War was reaching its zenith under Ronald Reagan. Not only did Pollard work for Israel, he also provided information to South Africa, Pakistan, and appears to have provided information to Communist China.

To add context, it was not assured that the US would win a long term war with the Soviet Union - cold or otherwise. I still have political science journals from the era that predicted a Soviet victory and global Marxist world order by 1990. Like many countries, America's "greatest ally" was hedging its bets. Israel coordinated with the Soviet Union on many things at the time. This was made easier by the fact that about 25% of the Israeli population came from Russian speaking parts of Eastern Europe. Furthermore, Judeo-Marxism was very popular in the 60s & 70s (Kibbutzim). It does appear that, due to the types of information shared, the Soviets received a significant portion of the information Pollard provided, including a list of thousands of American intel operatives and agents globally - hundreds of which would end up killed.

Enter Mike Huckabee.

Huckabee's outrageous decision to meet with a traitor like Pollard is disturbing enough. After all, Pollard is a self described Zionist Extremist whose entire personal motivation was the elevation of Israel over all others, including the United States that he betrayed. But one must question Huckabee's motives and loyalties.

Christian Zionists strongly believe that the Jewish people are "Chosen by God." As such, they may offer their temporal loyalty to the US, but if given a choice between the United States or the Chosen people of God, the Christian Zionist would choose Israel. He would not have a choice.

To the Christian Zionist, especially those who are wedded to the idea of a pre-Tribulations Rapture, Israel will be ground zero for any future return of Christ. Therefore, both logically and theologically, generic Jews come before generic Americans when loyalty is weighed. God comes before country.

Huckabee knew what he was doing. He was sending a very clear signal: "My loyalty to Israel is on par with this fellow American who used his position to elevate your Jewish security interests." In other words, Huckabee advertised his willingness to work for Israel, despite the potential earthly consequences. No doubt, the Israeli government got the message. They also likely received the corresponding message that Trump loyalist, current Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, would make a fine VP candidate in 2028 - loyal to Israel, like her father.

Ambassadors are provided significant amounts of intelligence information depending on the location, and that post is a beehive of intelligence activity for the region. If you are the Ambassador to the Bahamas, you are largely ceremonial and useless. If you are the Ambassador to Russia, China, or Israel, you are essentially a politically appointed intelligence officer.

Christian Zionist Huckabee's open signal of loyalty to those whom he considers to be God's people should be a wake up call to all Americans. It is bad enough when Jewish actors in positions of authority take advantage of their position to serve Israel. It is an entirely new threat altogether to know that millions of Americans believe like Huckabee - and occupy key positions throughout the United States bureaucratic and military infrastructure. To whom will their loyalty go - the Jewish people or to their fellow Americans, even American Christians?

Huckabee just gave you their answer.

Folks -- gentle reminder. Please keep religious-oriented posts out of the thread.
Realize I am walking a fine line, but America really needs to come to grips with Christian Zionists political power and it's influence on foreign policy, especially Israel.

There is a fine line. The line gets crossed when posts from X showing individuals taunting others with slabs of bacon while they are in prayer.

The point can be made without resorting to those types of posts.

No, I am talking about my posts on the history of Christian Zionism in relation to foreign policy.

This is exactly the type of situation the retired NYPD guys whose chat group I'm a member of are warning about. A situation where you are NOT going to send a social worker to defuse.

Maybe it's just me, but the timing of the video by six Democrats calling on US service personnel to ignore illegal orders from President Trump is highly suspicious. This video comes on the heels of Trump signing the bill to release the Epstein files.

Am wondering now if this is the latest distraction from "The Resistance"? The Democrats know there is nothing in the files that will implicate Trump having sex with little girls so now they throw this out there.

Sen. Mark Kelly faces Pentagon investigation for making video on refusing ‘unlawful orders’

“Listen, Trump. Your continued threats will not intimidate me or keep me from doing my job, which includes oversight of the executive branch,” Kelly wrote.

“Stop the threats of execution, hanging, and sending a mob before someone gets hurt. America deserves better.”

This 1798 paper etching portrays the fight on the floor of Congress between Reps. Matthew Lyon of Vermont (holding fireplace tongs) and Roger Griswold of Connecticut (holding cane). After being imprisoned for violating the Sedition Act, Lyon won landslide reelection to the House of Representatives. (public domain)

Matthew Lyon

Matthew Lyon (1749–1822) was the first person to be prosecuted under the Sedition Act of 1798.

Born on July 14, 1749, in Wicklow County, Ireland, Lyon was apprenticed to a printer and then sailed for America in 1764 as an indentured servant. By 1772, he had acquired a sufficient income to buy land in Cornwall, Connecticut. He later moved to the frontier region between New York and New Hampshire.

During the American Revolutionary War, Lyon served as a colonel in the Green Mountain Boys and played an important part in the capture of Fort Ticonderoga in 1775. After the signing of the Declaration of Independence, he joined the Continental Army and served as a second lieutenant under General George Washington. When Vermont declared its independence from New York and became a state in 1776, Lyon became a member of revolutionary Vermont’s government. After the war, he settled down with his family and became a prosperous businessman.

Lyon was sentenced to imprisonment

Although the records of the case are spotty, one of the judges reasoned that the government must defend itself without appealing to a state and that Lyon’s offense was against the United States. The humorous highlight of the trial came when Lyon called witnesses to prove that Adams dined in luxury, demonstrating that the definition of simplicity meant one thing to a frontiersman like Lyon and another to the eminent judge that he examined. The jury deliberated for an hour before finding Lyon guilty. The judge sentenced him to four months’ imprisonment and to further confinement until he had paid the costs of the prosecution and a fine of $1,000.

Lyon was re-elected to Congress in prison

Instead of silencing Lyon, prison made a martyr of him. After forcing Lyon to take a circuitous route to the jail in order to display him triumphantly before the town citizens, the marshal assigned Lyon to a common cell that he shared with many other inmates. (One of Lyon’s judges was imprisoned for debt during Lyon’s term of imprisonment and was given a room of his own in the same jail.) The people of western Vermont responded to all of this by giving Lyon a landslide victory in his reelection campaign. The Vermonters also petitioned Adams to pardon Lyon and remit his fine, to no avail.

When Lyon left jail, he returned to Congress, where, helping to resolve the presidential election of 1800, he cast the tie-breaking vote for Thomas Jefferson over Aaron Burr. Lyon’s imprisonment had made civil liberties one of the major campaign issues of the election. His jailing illustrated the extent to which the Federalists were stifling the right to dissent. Jefferson’s victory gave him some vindication. Lyon moved to Kentucky in 1800 and continued to serve in the House until 1811. He died on August 1, 1822.
