Turkish Defence Industry - Exports & News

heard about this at the time its very good news

Turkey should start milking these Europeans when it comes to military weapons

Turkey now exceed Italy and Spain in military technology

by 2030 they should be catching France and beyond 2035+ they should be closing in on UK + Germany

after 2040 I can't see anyone beating Turkey in Europe, that 15 years

Turkish military exports could exceed $8 billion for 2025, some of these come to mind

Kaan deal with Indonesia
Hurjet to Spain
Romania Hisar Class
Indonesia ISTIF Class

Lots of European countries no longer trust the Americans . There is a good potential for Turkish Hurjet trainer intrests shown from Portugal too ? And fantastic news for future KAAN 5Th Gen orders from Spain Italy and Portugal.
Hope this continues in other economic situations for Turkey..

You are right.

The industry is now on track to reach or even exceed $8 billion in annual sales as of the end of 2025, a figure that would mark a surge of more than 250% since 2020

Exports rose by 22% in November to $747 million, lifting the year-to-date amount to nearly $7.45 billion, the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) said on Thursday.

The 11-month total marks a 30% increase from last year and already exceeds the record $7.2 billion achieved in the whole of 2024.

You are right.

I think total European defence exports are inflated due to the Ukraine war

but for sure post 2030+ Turkey might become the dominant military exporter out of Europe surpassing both UK and Germany

main reason would be Middle East and Africa and also many Muslim nations like Pakistan and Indonesia signing big contracts

but Turkey should make more inroads into European markets the recent Istanbul defence fair was big eye opener

Germany's problem is that they keep saying no to everyone who wants to buy their stuff, and the UK has nothing to sell because it refuses to invest in its own industry and it prefers to always buy the "cheapest quote" from wherever.

Germany has enough of its own products, esp land based, aerial(SAMS) and naval to rebuild her military using local resources, whereas the UK has nothing but the GCAP programme, and "some" naval ships eg Norway sale, and submarines to Australia.

It will be ironic if down the road, Germany buys the Kaan from Turkieye ;) ( unlikely as they will double down on the F35 until they have some kind of FCAS outcome that is positive but i will personally find it very very funny if it does come to pass ).

Germany is heading towards either joining the UK project or building it on its own with a few other countries excluding France. Germans have come to the conclusion that the French are too greedy, and if they accept French demands, it essentially means that Germany will lose the ability to build fighter jets in Germany.

They can't "join" GCAP as it is too late for that, all the work has been agreed and distributed and that is a can of worms that none of the partners want to open again at this very critical stage of the project.

The best that Germany can hope for when the project is completed, is that they can do some local assembly and some integration work on their weapons of choice. Germany does not bring anything to the party that the GCAP partners need at this point, except money and that can be addressed through procurement.

The business model for GCAP was predicated on the procurement plans for all 3 partners, German procurement was never a factor, so Germany has no leverage over the GCP partners to "negotiate" a better deal for itself or use possible procurement to inject itself into the development phase.

( as I suspect the UK wants the Germans to "stew" in the French juices for the way the Germans treated the UK over UK membership of the FCAS programme in the first place!!! Tempest project was a reaction to the UK being denied a role in the FCAS).

Germans are to ignorant to make purchase from Turkiye, ther armed forces want the TB2 badly.

Italians and Spaniards are putting their arrogance aside and trying to work with us, but the Germans, French, and British would never buy military equipment from us. Even if it were ten times more expensive, they would still prefer to get it from the United States.

We should continue building partnerships with Spain, Italy, Poland, and Ukraine. Maybe those arrogant countries will eventually realize their mistake and stop underestimating the Turkish defense industry.

Slave Germans buys 3 HERON-TP UAVs from Israel for $1,2 billion
( It is a betrayal of the German people )

on the other hand , smart British ( BAE SYSTEMS ) and Italians ( LEONARDO ) are working with TAI and BAYKAR

Even Saudi Arabia pays $3 billion for 60 AKINCI UCAVs instead of 3 HERON-TP for $1,2 billion
