Both are paying the price. Finally, America took their revenge of Afghanistan defeat. Pakistani establishment gave gurbani ka bakraGen Hameed chose to retire in November 2022 when Gen Asim Munir took the reins as the new army chief.
Gen Hameed’s background is equally significant in the political landscape of Pakistan. He served as the director general of the ISI from 2019 to 2021 and was known for his close ties to former prime minister Imran Khan.
His removal from the ISI chief position in 2021 is believed to have resulted in the rift between Mr Khan and the military establishment, which culminated in the ex-prime minister’s ousting in 2022 through a vote of no-confidence.
Gen Hameed’s tenure as ISI chief also brought him into the international spotlight, especially following his visible presence in Kabul during the Afghan Taliban’s takeover in 2021 — a critical moment after the withdrawal of US and other Western forces.
As the court martial proceedings commence, the focus will be on the implications for military discipline and the broader political repercussions in Pakistan.
Lt Gen Retired Faiz Hameed was close ally of jailed Imran Khan who was suppose to be COAS but table turned by Retired COAS Qamar Bajwa who elevated Asim Munir for COAS.
COAS Bajwa did backdoor deals with PDM / US and Pakistan paid its ultimate price. Now, the current COAS is doing the same as his predecessor. Nothing ever changes in the land of the pure.Lt Gen Retired Faiz Hameed was close ally of jailed Imran Khan who was suppose to be COAS but table turned by Retired COAS Qamar Bajwa who elevated Asim Munir for COAS.
Much to your heart’s desire. One by one, all the vestiges of IK's tenure and influence are being cleaned up. This is only to be expected.
Why is the automatic need to validate a victim mentality?Much to your heart’s desire.![]()
Before we settle on why so -One by one, all the vestiges of IK's tenure and influence are being cleaned up. This is only to be expected.
I don’t understand who is really the "victim" here? IK / Faiz Hamid or everyone else who have done much worse and still out of prison enjoying the corridors of unchecked power? Why is the automatic need to validate a victim mentality?
Nah. We only love "leaders" who come out of Kakul. I am pretty sure if IK or Bhutto or Sheikh Mujeeb also came from Kakul, we would all be singing songs in praise of their patriotism. Too bad, they all turned out to be bloody civilians, so their leadership skills don’t really count! From that perspective Imran Khan has a great story - he is a mediocre if not poor “leader” at best but because he is loud, oratory and has a backstory of failures and struggled(many of his own ineptness) - we love it.
You are only validating this here - you cannot see it from any other position than a “belief” and are providing every other possible evidence to show that belief.I don’t understand who is really the "victim" here? IK / Faiz Hamid or everyone else who have done much worse and still out of prison enjoying the corridors of unchecked power?![]()
More proof that you are into a victim mentality and are constantly into whataboutism when you cannot debate the question.Nah. We only love "leaders" who come out of Kakul. I am pretty sure if IK or Bhutto or Sheikh Mujeeb also came from Kakul, we would all be singing songs in praise of their patriotism. Too bad, they all turned out to be bloody civilians, so their leadership skills don’t really count!![]()
What will you do to 90% of Pakistanis? Are you suggesting they must either be killed or punished? One by one, all the vestiges of IK's tenure and influence are being cleaned up. This is only to be expected.
This guy repeatedly got relief from the military generals who put him there (first thrice in power and later twice in prison). Why these double standards? If today IK / Faiz Hamid start doing exactly as told, would they also get the same preferential treatment?Would you state the same for him in this picture?
