Pakistan rulers want to play big games but are ineffective (i"ll use a decent word). Zia got too excited over petrodollars and became mujahdeen, allowed billions to enter Pakistan, maddrassas, literature, tv brainwashing, by plan made tribal people and others as violent holy warriors. An effective leadership would have realised we will not sacrifice our national interest and security since the same people down the line will turn on us but he did it for Usa and Saudia, and to turn secular people in to religious loyal zombies.
Today leadership is destroying independent institutions, rule of law, constitution, its a joke, they may want to become like GCC or China style of government but who will run everything, the corrupt will get more power and will harm the state and its people even more than before.
