Afridi mentioned the names of multiple incarcerated leaders he wanted to meet and added, “I also wanted to meet the rest of the leadership and workers, but unfortunately, they did not let me meet them.”

He went on to say that the Punjab government’s “attitude since yesterday showed low mentality“.

Asked whether he thought issues with the federal government could be resolved through talks, CM Afridi said Imran had given the responsibility for “dialogue or protest“ to the opposition alliance Tehreek-i-Tahafuz-i-Ayin-i-Pakistan (TTAP).

The KP CM said that while the TTAP was “making efforts on its end”, which he supported, he had been directed to prepare for a street movement and he would take “those preparations to their peak”.

The TTAP on Thursday welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent invitation for talks. However, no concrete steps have so far been taken by the government to initiate a formal talks process, and PTI leaders say they are waiting for the government to make the first move.

PM’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has stressed that PM Shehbaz would decide on talks with PTI once the opposition party clarifies its stance on negotiations.

Following Afridi’s visit, Zain expressed his heartfelt gratitude to him and other PTI leaders in a post on X.

He said the KP CM enquired about Qureshi’s health, “hailed his sacrifices and also visited my mother”. “His visit is a source of encouragement and strength for us.”

Separately, CM Afridi also went to the residences of Yasmin, Ejaz Chaudhry and Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed.

If you are against someone who is largest party/Democratic candidate for the military that automatic makes you military tout
So its simple
Imran khan was a military tout (debatable but i believe this) now he is not, vcheng wasnt a military tout and now he is proud one

I can feel your pain: So many dreams shattered. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk!! BTW, I don't mind you call me a 'military tout': I am an unabashed supporter of the Pakistani military and of the current ruling setup. However, you calling VCheng a 'military tout' is unfair. He is anything but that. But he is right in questioning the 'democratic' credentials of your Stupid and Arrogant Messiah Khan--a cowardly 'leader' who could not even face a simple NCM vote! Democratic my a$$!!
Oh, Imran indeed is a product of the military and would no doubt lick the military boots again if he senses an opportunity.

To me, it does not matter. As @Goenitz suggested above, all I can do is say what I say. :D

But to cultits, anything that is not in favor of their chosen leader elicits a kneejerk reaction of opposition and insanity. They have only a binary view of the world in that everything that does not support their leader must be the enemy, logic be damned.

This thread is a great example of that, but let us remain on topic:

What CM Afridi has tried to elicit in Lahore will be a good test of the real popularity of IK that is often claimed but has thus far never materialized. Whether this public defiance gains traction, or whether sanity prevails and private diplomacy is able to find a way forward, would be an interesting thing to see evolve.

good political/street activity

So will this build momentum or not, is the million dollar question at this point.

The only thing that will build momentum will be Imran coming out of prison, given a free reign for street protests. And that ain't happening until at least the 2029 elections. Amassing thousands on the streets is done by many politicians in Pakistan. We can see how large the gathering today about Benazir's death anniversary, as an example.
But... some are free to believe in '90% popular support' claim.

Agitation/defiance is enough. IK was dethroned in 22, and his popularity was measured on Feb 08, 2024. Similarly, people are waiting for another opportunity (natural, inorganic, accidental, constitutional, etc) to show what they really want, like in today's Afridi rallies in Lahore. However, whether it yields to nationwide change or not, really doesn't matter

They announce so many plans and plots but when the crunch time comes, all we hear is so many excuses, "... but, but next time..."

As you well know, I would say to myself to "be patient and see what happens". :D

So agitation and defiance just for the sake of being agitated and defiant?

While that may feel satisfying on a personal level, such a political strategy would virtually ensure PTI's decline into irrelevance.

But then again, IK is wise enough to know what he wishes to decide here. I would still respect his choices in this matter, of course.

See, its not that hard🤷
The sad part is that Cartoon-e-Azam Imran Khan still wants to be a "military tout", but the military are not interested in him singing "Same page, same page" five times again.

They think he is a pathetic human being who just lives off other people. And, as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, his leadership was detrimental to the State leading to the annexation of Kashmir, as well deteriorating relations with Pakistan's traditional friends and allies.

Personally, I think he is a racist pig who believes in Afghan racial supremacy and he doesnt like the idea of Pakistan being stronger than Afghanistan. That's just my personal opinion. Allah knows best.

Hoping that something might work is not really a viable strategy in the long term, but hey, let them try as much as they wish. It is their right.

What do you think relevance looks like? Do you consider PMLN/PPP has relevance? and PTI should seek that type?
