TF-X / KAAN / Hürjet Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircrafts News & Discussions

They gave the AI pics of an F-35 (notice the bulges!) and the GTU-0, and then churned this out... :D

View attachment 165211

Look at the bays, the 'shape' of the fuselage, the horizontal stabilizer mounting configuration, the landing gear arrangement, the EOTS & IRST... that's AI for sure...

If you can't differentiate the real details from the AI-slop on the Kaan; at least look at the Kizilelma and TCG Anadolu for crying out loud... :D

it may be fake AI but we get the message loud and clear

as a Pakistani decedent we were very proud and grateful to our brother CEO of Baykar who said he won't sell drones to India

our ancestors sold their gold and jewellery to donate to Turks for the fight against the evil Empires who eyed the complete take over of Turkish land when Turkey was weak

the Turkish helicopter crash after the 2005 Earthquake the statement from Turkey was, its a very small price to pay for what Pakistan has done for us

for Turkey we stand, and one day inshallah we will have the best military technology

Pakistan and Turkey are not brothers but are like full blood brothers with a shared history

we won't let each other down and therefore will not allow ourselves to end up like Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen and now and possibly soon Iran

Keep rising Until victory inshallah

( 10+80 ) F-110-GE-129E Engines to power the KAAN Fighter Jets

The parliamentary question submitted to the Minister of National Defence, YASAR GULER, has been answered.

Within the scope of the KAAN Project, which involves the use of the F110-GE-129E Engine, there are two sub-contracts currently in effect between TUSAŞ and General Electric (GE) Aerospace.

-- Under the first sub-contract, which covers the supply of 10 Engines,
10 engines were delivered as of September 2025

-- Negotiations are ongoing with the US Government regarding the second sub-contract, which covers the supply of 80 engines

Negotiations are ongoing with the U.S. Government regarding the supply process for 80 engines.

It has been decided to opt for a domestic engine to be used in the Block 30/40 platforms of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN Project.

The Preliminary Design Phase is targeted to be completed at the beginning of 2026. -MSB

We've received the engines for the prototypes. Good news. So far, everything is proceeding as planned.

With the 10 engine delivery already in Turkey, this ensures at the very least, the Development of prototypes will not be impeded, no matter a future embargo.

The only choke points I see now is the TF35000 and the Ejection seats. Everything else is nearing readiness or already there.

Can be this F110 deal linked to Turkish return to F35?. I am suspicious that US Government/Congress have granted the delivery of them in exchange of F35.

US is eager to export as many F35 fighters just in the target market of KAAN. From Saudi Arabia to Marocco, passing by Egypt, IMO US is offering their F35 to close the door to KAAN and J35.

Anyway it is very good news. I am pretty sure Turkey will develop a excellent indigenous engine sooner than later.

i think its a seperate matter.

I actually don't want Turkey to buy too many F-35s, Turkey really doesn't need more than 24-40 planes, essentially 2-4 squadrons. Infact its detrimental to domestic solutions to acquire too many. I see the F-35 more as a benchmark to build domestic avionics to match the sensor fusion of the F-35 and having the platform in your own hands to test and study and optimise, rather than a tool to actually use in mass in a conflict.

Loved the Turkish approach. They are focusing on turbo-fan based jet fighters/ trainers and turbo-jet based UCAVs while they are not bothering themselves with basic trainers that much. Pakistan exported more than 50 MFI-Super Mushhaq trainers for TuAF. Pilots after getting basic flying will switch to Hurjet like aircraft for advanced jet training.

Hürjet It is a smart design. They use one of the most known and tested engine, the F404 which is present in many Air forces (F18A/C operators) and even in T50. It is single engine that makes cheaper to operate, single engined It is lighter and manufacturer is capable of sharing with local companies of the client technology and local requirements to tailorize the final aircraft. So wish you luck.

Turkey built those as well.

She is a pretty plane for sure, and as the Spain procurement as shown, a very capable platform.

I done wonder if (/hope) the UK purchases the platform too (esp in light of the Typhoon procurement) as it looks very very look in red ;) .
