It should be looked at holistically.
If buying cheap Indian yarn creates more jobs and earns more revenue then BD should buy Indian yarn.
But that’s predicated on whether Indian government enables a free supply chain.
By free supply chain - I mean Indian government isn’t suddenly going to pull the rug like they do with onion exports.
I am skeptical whether India can maintain a free supply chain.
Hence Bangladesh is probably right in supporting its own yarn producing capacity.
Untimely these kinds of stupidity hurts both countries.
Bangladesh has to use precious land to produce a non essential (not life and death) item like onion - whilst Indians see their onions rot by the roadside.
