H4 has a TV seeker. Pakistan has been working on IIR for last couple years. The issue was maturing and mass production of IIR seeker. This IIR seeker was displayed by GIDS at one of the exhibitions. Range of seeker is 10-20 KM IIRC.

I meant. Does it have automatic target recognition or it still needs to be guided into the target by pilot/weapons officer.

Also wasn’t the swift retort H4 feed IIR?

It’s similar to LS/LT series and other range extension kits from China.

Currently, neither the PLA nor Chinese state-owned military enterprises have this type of product. Only one small private workshop produces it.

Due to the limited number of customers, the cost of this kit from the private workshop is relatively high, approximately 1000-2000 RMB.

Based on the photos of their kit, if mass-produced, the cost could be reduced to within 500 RMB(Less than US$100).

It would, H4 literally 90s, think by PAF would have IIR/EO seekers we've seen that seeker on different REKs too.

No, I have watched the documentary pilot mentioned, fire launching I gave control to the pilot

The purpose of IIR itself is to make a missile ATR. TERCOM/DSMAC allows the missile to fly to predetermined location. IIR allows it precisely target the data by comparing the images stored in the missile memory. Since we don't have live datalinks/satellite guidance/Man in the loop. So target reassignment/ Hitting target of opportunity in real time will obviously be missing from the feature set.

As far as I know, nope. If someone is guiding a missile, then it has to be a tv seeker. IIR makes the missile autonomous.

LT and LS series is supposedly made by subsidiaries of AVIC since almost 2 decades.
