PAF Conducts Successful Test Launch of Taimoor ALCM

As far as I know, nope. If someone is guiding a missile, then it has to be a tv seeker. IIR makes the missile autonomous.
I respectfully disagree brother. You may or may not have ATR even if you have IIR sensor. IIR provides night time targeting benefits.

That is a myth successfully shattered to pieces, as recently as May 2025

I think Pakistan has selective/limited use of Chinese satellites for observation purposes, but is that the same as being allowed to use them for active targeting and guidance of strike operations ? Chinese will have drawn a line on how they can be used of course, but we don't know where that line is.

The bigger technical issue is how will you transmit that to the host platform or back to base given that the range may be 600km or more for air launched platform that heads back to base after launch. Pakistan lacks the satellites that could be used to transmit that data.
The range may itself point to ATR.

Im actually more happy that they showed mirage with this. It shows that the missile isnt very reliant on sensors of aircraft and that it can easily be integrated. Also shows how mirage fleet still has a future
Mirages shouldn't have a future. They should be sent to the scrap yard.

harbah has an iir option for what its worth, not sure what the pn's qualms were with it and why they chose not to pursue it further.

OTOH, its pretty clear that rasoob is a PN sponsored project and one they intend to deploy on ships too...

Sea King, Shahpar 3(naval) and ATR? who else operates these...

semi armour peircing? sounds like a shaped charge for ships

booster...surface launched(weak argument, could be because of the sea king too tbf)

So, im not sure whether this has any value for the PN, rasoob, rightly so, is where their bets seem to be
I would have thought the range (twice as much as Rasoob) and warhead size would be key factors, but this would most likely be used on PAF aircraft for anti-ship, rather than PN platforms. Sea Sultan is a long shot, but doable I think.

no its autonomous .
Then we need the latest satellite pics just before the attack (not so much for stationary targets) so that the onboard computer can match? The resolution of such pics will be the next question.

PN is a primarily defensive force, the PAF will be contending with vikrant etc, the PN will protect the more immediate vicinity.

Warhead weight isnt too important, warheads are more optimised to cause damage, but rasoob will be a family anyway. I do think rasoob is also probably more survivable and intelligent
