Venezuela - US Conflict: News, Updates

Well the Chinese investments are not at the barrel of a gun, and they are a chance for the target country to transform itself, if they have any brains. The Chinese however have a done a poor job of explaining their vision behind Belt and Road. Pakistan is among those countries that has misread what CPEC or Belt and Road were really about, to build the required infrastructure, not only physical but human capital that country can use to progress. Of course the Chinese get to build influence and will also extract benefits.

The US simply sees China as a new reason to fund its bloated MIC. The US doesn't give an F about Venezuelans or Iraqis or Pakistanis.
We faced a (escalated) covert war due to CPEC. China is unwilling/incapable of playing big power role and crush efforts against its interests. It’s blaming us for the casualties of what is clearly a covert war.

This leaves mid/small countries ending up in far worse place, facing a covert or overt war with the added burden of extractive China.

I recall I was completely shut down few months ago by an American poster here when I said 100% the US is going in Venezuela and that it has to do something with boosting the US economy. He decline as bullshxt and I told him that this would 100% happen.

How did I know that they were 100% going in? Because all the stars aligned for them going in due to vaste resources

I disagree, you have been facing covert war for last 50 years, especially after the success of that approach in 1971. It's part of India's policy to keep its neighborhood off-balance and attract all FDI to itself.

China is not the West and doesn't operate the same way. Pakistani and other countries failure to understand and integrate with China is their own fault.

Anyways back to topic.

American Empire strikes again. And successfully,
Watch out for Iran, Greenland, Canada and Panama
Trump will make them to colonies, too.
Interestingly the reaction of the Russians
They almost keep quiet.
Putin seems to have made a deal with Trump.
Russia gets Ukraine, the US gets colonies.
Win win

Who is Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela’s president?

Trump, whose government has accused Maduro of running drug cartels and other crimes, had been pressuring the strongman to leave office for months.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who has been in power for nearly 12 years, saw his rule come to a sudden end earlier today.

After a lightning raid on Caracas, President Donald Trump said Maduro had been captured by US forces on Saturday.

Trump, whose government has accused the Venezuelan president of running drug cartels and other crimes, had been pressuring the strongman to leave office for months.

Maduro was born into a working-class family on November 23, 1962, the son of a trade union leader. He worked as a bus driver during the time army officer Hugo Chavez led a failed coup attempt in 1992.

He campaigned for Chavez’s release from prison and became a fervent supporter of his leftist agenda. According to a BBC report, Maduro held a long and close association with Chavez, which dates back to Chavez’s imprisonment.

Maduro won a seat in the legislature following Chavez’s 1998 election.

In the years that followed, he rose to become president of the National Assembly and then foreign minister, travelling the globe to build international alliances through oil-financed assistance programs.

Maduro, who likes to chug green juices at campaign events, citing their health properties, is heir to his late mentor. In 2012, Chávez named him as his hand-picked successor, and Maduro was narrowly elected president in 2013 following his death.

During his tenure, his administration oversaw a spectacular economic collapse characterised by hyperinflation and chronic shortages. His rule became best known for allegedly rigged elections, food shortages and rights abuses, including harsh crackdowns on protests in 2014 and 2017.

Problem: The economy didn't do well. He is a socialist.

Solution: Let's bomb his country and replace him.

I think you are right about Greenland as not only is that a play about natural resources and the Arctic, but crucially it will be an attack by a NATO member on another NATO member, rendering NATO obsolete overnight.

Yes everyone is failing to understand and suffering. If it requires super intelligence far beyond anyone’s reach to benefit from Chinese promises then again for all practical purposes, it’s a bad deal.

Outcome trumps words. Excuse my pun.

Until China finds the will to wear big boys pants.

No super-intelligence required, just a willingness to adapt to new ideas and letting go of old ways of doing things. Lazy Pakistanis who have only done ratta their entire lives find such a world difficult and scary.

China has defeated Mr Trump's trade war and successfully pushed back at all American pressure campaigns since Trump 1, Biden 1 and Trump 2. There are important lessons there for anyone bothering to learn.
