It's not that he knows getting arrested and taken to NY is the best outcome considering how it could have ended. He knows all it takes is a crazy activist federal judge that was appointed by Biden or Obumer and this whole cht blows up.

The remarks came after US President Donald Trump said Washington carried out a "large scale strike" against Venezuela, and that Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of the country.

“Such hegemonic acts of the US seriously violate international law and Venezuela’s sovereignty, and threaten peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean region. China firmly opposes it,” the spokesperson said.

“We call on the US to abide by international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and stop violating other countries’ sovereignty and security,” the spokesperson said.

Earlier, Venezuela’s government said the US attacked civilian and military installations in multiple states, and declared ‌a national ‌emergency.

The attacks came after months of tension, as the US accused Maduro of being involved in drug trafficking. Maduro denied being a cartel leader and had expressed readiness to hold talks.

Separately, China’s Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela advised citizens to temporarily refrain from traveling to the Caribbean country.

Chinese nationals and institutions in Venezuela are advised to closely monitor the local security situation, strengthen safety precautions and emergency preparedness, and avoid unnecessary outings, a statement said.

China is powerful internally but it lacks the US's outward influence and operational power. America has hundreds of bases all over the world and their troops and assets are almost always war ready.

China cannot operate that far from their home base. Only the Soviets could challenge the Americans. China would still need a couple of decades and the US would need to consistently regress for a couple of decades for China to read that sort of parity.

The Venezuelan government should have armed civilians and the militia at scale. Put weapons in the hands of millions of Venezuelans, and even Ethan Hunt wouldn't make it in and out in one piece.

yep China has close to no power projection. In fact no country has power projection against resistance except US.

China can power project against weak nations but not against any firm resistance. US can power project against slightly stronger nations but nothing beyond North Korea even.

China would need global bases and military logistic networks plus at least 6 nuclear super carriers to project power against a resisntance of any substance.

US is simply hunkering down in north american and taking control of south america. Colonial power showing mask off.

Chinese influential still love USA dollar and economically follows a capitalist world order..it isnt politically nationalist to level to find or retain any allies

In simple term its not ussr or even the current day Russia

Doubtful they would do that. Might be enough of the people who would turn those weapons on them.

This can't be right. Perhaps the news reports are but the footage shown isn't. It appears to be military exercises in daylight. The current time in CCS is 1238AM (GMT-4).

Just noted the post time is 1115AM which is my local TZ (GMT-7). Still, the footage looks like an exercise.

Well, you assume too much as I'm not a big fan of Mr. Modi either and apparently are a supporter of violators of UN mandate on sovereignty and daylight robbery.

The problem with the US since the advent of the petro dollar is that it, specifically its leaderships, had gradually become dull & complacent. If the dems had a Biden, the reps trumps them with a Trump. A well known sexists, ignorant, arrogant womanizer, who is perhaps also a pedo. It needs a fresh set of leaders who can think out of the box, not keep beating the same old 1940s drums, as it is quite apparent now that it doesn't work anymore.
