PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Very likely China does not want to release KJ-700 for export.
This issue has been discussed before.

CETC has introduced a new type of AEW&C to the international export market.
Currently, there is not much publicly available technical information. However, based on its appearance and partial cross-sectional diagrams, we estimate that its capabilities are somewhere between the KJ-500 and KJ-700.

To date, the Chinese official authorities have not officially unveiled the KJ-700 AEW&C. This code name was given by military enthusiasts, not an official designation from the authorities.

KJ-500 is good enough for detecting gen4.5 fighters that IAF have, when they have a range of 480KM for 1㎡ RCS targets

Bro.
We are discussing the export of AEW&C aircraft, not their performance.

To date, no official Chinese media or institutions have indicated that the KJ-500 is available for export. All information regarding the export of the KJ-500 comes from foreign media and social media. We have also not seen codes like "KJ-500E/KJ-500AE" at various air shows. ------ If you have relevant information, please provide it.

The "KJ-700" has not yet been officially confirmed. Therefore, it is too early to discuss export issues.

The only thing confirmed is the AEW&C aircraft displayed by CETC. However, CETC has not confirmed its model code. We don't know what code it will ultimately use for export, but it is certainly exportable.
It might use the code "KJ-500E" or another code, or even a custom code defined by the country of origin. That's not important. However, based on its appearance, it differs from both the KJ-500 and KJ-700.

As for the performance of these AEW&C aircraft, I have no doubts or concerns.

I dont think so, but if it does happen, nothing like it!

Once again the same BS based on some fan-boy's "I know it, trust me brother!"

Since it is the same situation like last year when the same guys and sources claimed "until August, until late 2025 we will get them" and NOTHING changed since then!
Why do you get so worked up about timelines? PAF will certainly induct a 5th-generation fighter. Right, now they're pretty much stuck with J-35.

No one doubts that the PAF (Pakistan Air Force) will acquire the FC-31/J-35 fighter jet in the future.

Many Pakistanis are overly excited about this prospect. Therefore, many people are exploiting this excitement by fabricating numerous lies to gain attention. Most Pakistanis don't seriously examine the details and are easily swayed by these rumors.

Please note that, to date, we have not seen any complete version of the J-35 air force variant. This means that its current progress is still in the military testing phase and has not yet been fully finalized.

Therefore, we can confirm with 100% certainty that the original tweet is 100% fake news.

Therefore, @Deino was right.

Well yes, something has changed, many on here did not anticipate the J-35 Air force version and the new factory being completed so early. So I think the statement "NOTHING changed" may not be accurate here....

A correction:
As of today, neither project has been completed.

1. J-35 Air Force version.
The J-35 naval version has already had its "eyes" (referring to the EOTS) installed, but the Air Force version has not yet had its "eyes" installed. Therefore, it is not yet complete.

2. SAC's new factory.
Currently, only the final assembly plant has been completed. Other supporting factories for producing components and the supporting industrial park are not yet complete.
Therefore, only parts of the SAC new factory complex have been completed; the overall project is not yet finished, and construction is still ongoing.

Yes, but progress has been much quicker then anticipated, and the Air force version has had its first flight right? That was my main point, you are getting into semantics. My argument here is it is sometimes wrong to simply dismiss timelines. as we have seen in the past, we have often misjuded the pace of Chinese progress

There is no reason to believe that the new J-35 builds don't have a functioning EOTS, especially when the prototypes already do. A far more likely explanation would be that there is a cover on the EOTS that could be removed once the airframe is delivered.

Brother you take Pak defense twitter too seriously...
They will come when they come.

@JamD

Are we now in a position to build our own AWACS radars?

I think, we should be close interms of radar equipment as shown by recent homegrown AESA ground based radars. There is a layer of complexity in translating technology design for fixed location scanning to moving, but this can be done as part of building a Pakistan AEW&C. It would be better for Pakistan to spend time on making its technology better in R&D as AEW&C's is not where Pakistan has a problem right now.
