JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

Because during flight under the wings of an aircraft the missiles and it's all systems have to endure vibrations, G forces and extreme temperature changes ?

And that is why Engineers and materials scientists design and test these systems extensively and rigorously to ensure they can withstand these harsh conditions. So I disagree that missile will have reduce life spans.

Pakistan is performing very well by securing international orders for JF17s ...

Hopefully will have more potential order in coming year's...

Now only PAF/PAC have focus is to have alternative source of engine RD93 or RD93MA whatever.... they need alternative secure line of engine supplies from China (most probably ) instead of only Russian source..

That will give real piece of mind to current and potential customers in future... to secure larger orders

so if Sudan, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia can buy JF17 Thunder Block 3 then it will be great for Pakistan

the income can pay for the Chinese 5th generation fighter J-35

Nigeria also now needs to turn those 3 units into something like 30 units

2026 should be a good year for JF17 as was 2025

question is can PAC deliver to our own air force and exports ?

Sudan does not seem to want JF17 but it could be a possibility

Azerbaijan 40 units deal with $4.6 billion
Libya 16 units $4.4 billion
Nigeria 3 units of Block 2
Myanmar 16 units

Total 75 units

Possible deals

Saudi Arabia 16 units
Bangladesh 16 units max 32 units
Nigeria could add further 13-16 units of Block 3
Sudan 16 units

Total 64 units

75 + 64=139 units

Iraq is unlikely

AM (retd) Amir Masood is the eminent source for JF-17 Thunder aircraft future sales development. He has been closely associated with PAC. look for his detailed interview on the current situation with JF-17 orders and how is PAF going to cater to these deliveries as well as filful the requirements of the PAF. At the moment PAF is waiting for the delivery of the 3rd JF-17 Thunder Block lll squadron.

the thing is we have seen Iraq talk and talk for years

nothing has come from it

that's why I mentioned Iraq unlikely

however this may change things and could be a big one since May 2025 was great advertising by our pilots , they did a better job than the sales teams did over 2 decades

what are the other aircraft models ?

ok even i have to say , this has to be more than "interest in jf17 ".
@Ali_Baba jf17 for f16 🙃 🙃 :love: :love:

Pakistanis are almost certainly hyping the JF-17 sales numbers but hard to ignore top military leadership of several foreign countries meeting top military leadership of Pakistan. If the hype leads to sales then why not. At any rate, works on India's psychology. I posted a video yesterday where some top retired Indian military experts are totally ridiculing the JF-17 platform; that video, along with prominent Indian anchors like Palki Sharma also talking about JF-17 and in such videos there are wonderful imagery of JF-17 fighter jets. Wonderful free marketing to potential buyers and millions of viewers!
I think it was the singer Madonna who said something like this decades ago 'The only bad publicity is no publicity'.

Since when are Reuters and Bloomberg Pakistani ?

I was thinking of some Pakistani channels lately boasting about 20-60 $billion sales of military hardware in near future.
Also, the way 'information' works, if enough people talk then the information gets 'viral' enough to where even credible news outlet start to get influenced by the 'news'.

It took many years of azeri intrest to develop into an order but it did happen. Possible for iraq as well

If the US didn't intervene during talks with Argentina to buy JF-17, I am sure PAC would have secured the deal. The West got alerted with Pak-China arms making inroads into South America, so they influenced the Argentinian govt. to instead buy used F-16.
