JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

Ok, but China is also a partner in the JF-17. will they agree on such a deal? here no actual money is coming in , instead existing loan on Pakistan not China is being paid off as JF-17

You have to understand the JF17 is a joint fighter and the idea was always a project that Pakistan would own and lead and take ownership of

That's the reason for pushing ahead with JF17 rather then just sign onto the the J10 program which would be completely Chinese owned and led

And gradually Pakistan is taking more ownership, I read Pakistan now produces about 70% of the plane inside Pakistan now

So when a deal is negotiated or agreed the Chinese company is simply informed, their will obviously be space for China to agree or disagree, but mostly they will just accept with a smile because it's money and sales

Pakistan then places a order for the Chinese parts that it requires to complete the plane,

And the work is done inside Pakistan

Part of the reason for the alpha and PFX programs is because Pakistan wants to push for a complete ownership of the program except for the engine and some weapons

Hello sir,

Respectfully, in my experience the very high officials retired or not. can't have details to latest updates. Yes I am not known much but I know this because I have assessed it and found that they just do is speculate.

Now about Argentina and Sri Lanka you are absolutely right I also got excited when that rumor started. However, that was true and not rumor it was lobby of India in case of Sri Lanka and America in case of Argentina who blocked or interfered.

Right now circumstances are different. With US busy in Venezuela and Greenland world has come to know the truth that US is not a reliable weapons supplier and time and again it has been seen by world. We already have 3 operators of jf17 who are fine with its services. Nigeria literally stopped a Gambia coup attempt with 3 JF 17. Myanmar is 2nd and 3rd is Azerbaijan. Also, the biggest operator is Pakistan which has easily a track record of one of best airforce in terms of Training and professionalism and fighting experience and that operates JF17. Now if you go to other places apart from this forum where there is always sense of doubt rather than hope, you will find that people in muslim countries specially admire the life of jf17 and if not want them as main fighter it definitely wants them in secondary role.

Apart from KSA, Bangladesh as you said most likely. Yes it is and it will be Stupidness from Bangladesh side if the deal is not materialized as India has made sure to keep them weak.

You are right about everything apart from 1st. But I am adding in your point that countries that have shown interest of jf17 should buy it and if not its there loss. Because relying on Russia is unreliable, relying on US means blackmailing or at time of war expect weapons and supplies getting expensive.

And yet dickhead Arabs will keep going back to America ….

Patience is of a virtue my friends. Even 1 of these deals going through would be a big achievement, so lets wait and see how this plays out.

Brothers, I have a theory and a question.

Iraq purchased two lots of F-16s:
18 + 18 = 36

One Iraqi F-16 crashed in 2017.
18 + 17 = 35

Pakistan has ordered 92 Link-16s for its own F-16 fleet, however, PAF only has 75 F-16s, there'll be extra 17 Link-16s with no aircraft.

Could 17 of the Iraqi F-16s be transferred to Pakistan in return for JF-17 Thunders with full package, training, maintenance, etc.?

I've heard the Iraqis are struggling to maintain their F-16s after the US pulled out of Iraq and stopped training the Iraqis.

I think its unlikely Pak can use those parts for other airforces probably a no third party transfer clause. The extras are probably spares.

Nope Americans will never allow that …. They have deliberately let their F16s rot like they did in Indonesia and Venezuela foe
Political reasons
