$1 billion fee for permanent membership or rich people, rich countries
Vietnam probably doesn’t need to pay as founding member.
I don’t know, either what we can contribute.
You may ask Donald Trump.
He wants this “peace club” to replace the UN.L

Last line.. right on spot

Trump will get angry and jack up the tariffs by 25%. You will join the bad boys club with EU.
For what reason? The US wants global legitimacy, it probably needs Vietnam in the reconstruction of Gaza. Maybe it’s a win win, Trump gives us money, we then build the entire city from ashes.

Don't need all this crap. All Trump US have to do is stop supporting Israel, the war will end and peace will come.

1 billion entry fee?

I don't understand what Vietnam will exactly contribute to resolving this conflict.
Vietnam isn't there to resolve the situation. It's beyond our capabilities and not in our strategic interest.

FPT Corporation has officially launched its office in Israel, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy and reaffirming its long-term commitment to investing in core and strategic technologies.

The inauguration ceremony was held on January 13 via video link between Hanoi and Netanya of Israel, with the participation of FPT leaders, representatives from Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam, Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry, and leading technology firms and innovation organisations of the Middle Eastern country.

In Hanoi, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh highlighted strong similarities between Vietnam and Israel, noting their shared aspiration to drive development through education and technology.

He said Vietnam identifies technology as a strategic growth engine, with priorities including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and semiconductors, adding that the presence of FPT, one of Vietnam's key technology firms, in Israel aims to learn from the country’s advanced startup ecosystem, technology education and innovation spirit while contributing technology-driven solutions to society.

In Isreal, Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of the FPT Information System (FPT IS) company, noted that FPT Israel focuses on technology cooperation, research and development, and the implementation of projects on AI, cybersecurity, data, semiconductor and other strategic technologies. The new office is also expected to create employment opportunities for local tech talent and contribute to the regional technology ecosystem.

The event also featured remarks from Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Nguyen Ky Son, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer, and representatives of Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry, all underscoring strong potential for bilateral technology cooperation, particularly as the Vietnam – Israel Free Trade Agreement (VIFTA) is being carried out intenstively.

A highlight of the launch was the introduction of partnerships between FPT and Israeli technology firms such as Enabley, CropX, Cyabra and CyberproAI, opening up opportunities for co-development, knowledge transfer and market expansion.

Israel, widely known as the “Startup Nation”, is a global leader in technology and innovation, especially cybersecurity, AI and semiconductors. FPT Israel will be based in Tel Aviv, often described as the technology capital of the Middle East, expected to enable the Vietnamese tech group to engage more deeply with one of the world’s most dynamic innovation ecosystems, thereby strengthening its competitiveness and stature in the international arena./.

At the event, FPT Corporation officially announced the establishment of FPT Israel, reinforcing its strategy to expand its footprint in one of the world’s leading hubs for high technology and innovation—particularly in core technology domains that align closely with Vietnam’s national strategic technology priorities and FPT’s long-term development orientation. Through FPT Israel, FPT aims to promote co-development partnerships, facilitate technology exchange, establish research and development (R&D) centers, stay at the forefront of global technology trends, and better serve international customers. The focus will be on national strategic technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and semiconductor technologies.

You aren't building anything. You barely have anything in common with the region and its people.

Gov't approves plans to implement Viet Nam – Israel FTA

VGP - The Government of Viet Nam has approved a plan to implement the Viet Nam–Israel Free Trade Agreement (VIFTA).

Accordingly, the Government assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) as the host of a dedicated VIFTA information focal point, tasked with guiding businesses, clarifying market access commitments, and addressing issues arising during the agreement's implementation.

To help Vietnamese enterprises adapt faster to the Israeli market, the Government targets to reinforce information networks, strengthen institutional capacity, and enhance market intelligence, forecasting, and regulatory updates. These efforts aim to keep exporters informed of technical requirements and import–export regulations applied in Israel.

The implementation roadmap also prioritizes boosting trade and investment promotion activities in Israel, promoting Viet Nam's investment climate and strategic advantages to Israeli firms. The initiatives are expected to expand bilateral trade, attract foreign investment into priority sectors, and bring Vietnamese goods closer to Israeli consumers and importers.

In parallel with market promotion, ministries and agencies will review and update the legal framework to ensure alignment with VIFTA commitments according to the agreed timeline. Institutional arrangements will be completed, including the designation of national and sectoral focal points, participation in the VIFTA Joint Committee and its subcommittees, coordination of technical assistance from Israel, and fulfilment of notification obligations.

A core pillar of the plan is industry and enterprise competitiveness support, with programs tailored to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), start-ups, and sectors directly affected by the FTA. The Government also calls for response measures for vulnerable industries, while encouraging stronger linkages between domestic firms and Israeli-invested enterprises to deepen integration into production networks and supply chains.

The plan seeks progress on the mutual recognition of conformity assessment results, enabling smoother regulatory compliance for exporters. It also supports Vietnamese producers in meeting Israel's market-specific standards, including Halal certification requirements, which are essential for certain consumer segments and import categories.

VIFTA was signed on July 25, 2023 and took effect on November 17, 2024, becoming Israel's first FTA with a Southeast Asian country and Viet Nam's first trade pact with a partner in the Middle East.

Under the agreement, Israel eliminates 66.3 percent of tariff lines immediately, while the remaining duties are being phased out over the following years. Viet Nam has also committed to removing the majority of its tariff lines, enhancing competitiveness for traded goods.

The FTA is creating broader opportunities for Vietnamese exports, including seafood, cashews, textiles, coffee, and pepper, while strengthening cooperation in services, investment, and high-tech industries.

Bilateral trade was projected to exceed US$3.7 billion in 2025, with Viet Nam's exports to Israel growing more than 10 percent year-on-year, reflecting rising momentum driven by tariff reforms and market engagement./.
